Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Please share with us what have you purchased lately and if possible, post some pictures for all of us to drool over your haul drool.gif  drool.gif  drool.gif . It could be a pair of jeans, a dress shirt, sneakers and accessories; it could be anything! It is not necessary designer goods or branded stuff. There is no limit to it rclxms.gif.

So what are you waiting for, let's keep it rolling!! biggrin.gif

A parcel that I have been anticipating for the longest time. It was sent via Royal Mail without any tracking number, just like how ASOS would ship and has the highest tendency to MIA. I was just glad it finally found its way to my home address.

A Pickett Tunstall leather travel valet tray in turquoise, lined with signature Pickett plum suede.

It may look challenging but surprisingly it is not due to its enormous size. You can't really figure out what is the print.

Oh well, wife saw it last night and it is in her possession now......

Oh yeah, slapped with this:

And this was early July from the same shipper. Almost the same amount of tax:

This was for the Givenchy scarf that shipped from matchesfashion.com:

What I can say is DHL is making a huge profit from the duty handling fee despite delaying my shipments without any reason..........

In most cases (i.e. if the shipping cost isn't clearly specified on documentation), courier services value shipment using IATA guideline which leads to most shipments being overtaxed. If you believe you shouldn't be taxed (invoice+shipping cost below MYR500) or have been overcharged, just e-mail them with a copy of the invoice clearly stating the exact total. In some cases, you can check on shipping terms. Not particularly sure about Malaysian Customs, but if seller specifies FOB/FCA then it's your right to only be taxed the invoice total ex-shipping fees.
Sure that can help with some of the "tax issues" in here.

Trust me I have done all those that mentioned above but to no avail. There was a case whereby DHL even allowed the customs to tax me wrongly even though I pointed out that those tax codes, as stipulated in Sales Tax (Exemption) Order 1980, are only to be applied on tobacco and alcohol. Just in case you may ask, I purchased two belts from a reputable online store, and the online store declared the description and price of the items very clearly in the invoice and the epic? DHL asked me to liaise with the Customs directly.........
