Hey guys, haven't got one yet (waiting for official launch - I think I'll go and try to get one then!) but was wondering if those who have had tried out the GPS performance yet? Feedback please, thanks.

GPS lock is not as fast as my old nokia 6110.

*
i have updated the firmware on my own using flashing software...
it's not recommend for the weak of heart though and it takes a lot of time for the setup but the flashing process is pretty quick laugh.gif laugh.gif

now if your phone is dead you can send it to me, i will flash it for you laugh.gif

woo GPS required a lot of data usage, i think that is the least feature i'd use. oh hey, i have a standalone Garmin NUVI 205W tongue.gif
*
you have to download the map first or else it will download the map as you go just like google map. if you already installed the map, it will only use 3G/GPRS for the lock process if you enabled A-GPS.

Ok. nod.gif Bumping my question up again, those who already have the phone, please try to answer my question cos it's quite an important factor in deciding whether I get this phone or not. I really need some of the S60v3 apps and there are hardly any S60v5 games now. Thanks. icon_question.gif
*
it will support but it won't look good and a waste of screen size.

Those people who already have the phone can take up-close shots of it please? rclxms.gif Those pictures of the phone on the internet are all touched up and those on review sites are the pre-production models. I won't be buying this until the official release so now I can only drool at the pictures now.. sweat.gif
*
in full size, it won't look good ...that's for sure.
but when u resize it to smaller resolution of course the picture will look better biggrin.gif

*
agreed...
it's not an imaging device.
it's never marketed that way though.

when will atlantis hav stock for the black 5800??? i prefer the black 2 the blue and red....
*
actually even if u buy red or bluw\e, mostly the phone looks black except for the lining...
only in certain circumstances when the lighting is right you can see the reddish or bluish tone to the housing...
i only notice it yesterday the housing actually has bluish tone for the blue lining set, i thought it's pure black.

deciding between n95 8gb and 5800... this makes me want n95 8gb more.. haiya..
*
5800 is geared more towards music other than the touch features and bigger screen and resolution la...
if you're more into imaging, this phone is not for you....better wait for N97.

Yes, hard reset here means *#7370# --> SEND. (I think it is 7370). Its equivalent to a factory reset to default settings. All programs will be lost. Backup here means using either built-in backup utility or PC Suite backup to backup all your messages, contacts, calendar, to-dos, meetings, and necessary phone settings. Content in micro-SD card is unaffected but applications installed in it will be re-detected by the phone and re-installed automatically. It works like a charm.

Contrary to the 'real' hard reset via formatting of the phone NAND memory and re-establishing content from the ROM, yes, no real instructions yet since we're dealing with something newer than S60v3.
*
however calendar information failed to be restored. i have done numerous times only calendar cannot be restored.

*
in low yat must have...
my tube already put screen protector and it seem the protector is specifically for nokia 5800 since the size and cutting fit nicely with the screen

is it exactly like the original screen protector when we first bought the phone (which with some color line there) .... I bought a larger screen protector and cut it to protect the main portion of the screen, i plan to get original one to cover the button as well when it is available....
*
i mean the protector covered everything, including the button part..not only the display
