Nursing and other allied health science courses are even more numerous...

If I were to list every single IPTS with a nursing course in Malaysia, I'd probably come up with at least 30 IPTS...

Too bad Ismail Merican no longer DG of Health...

Ismail Merican is in Mahsa. Let's see what changes he will bring to Mahsa and set a higher standard for other IPTS to follow.

Alliance is blowing a lot of hot air and doing massive advertising BUT it seems that only a certain community makes up the enrolment.
*
He is in Mahsa? aaa...
Is he still involved in MMC?

On another note... I'm considering to add USM-KLE Medical program in this thread... It seems that USM is behaving somewhat like IPTS already...

They are now openly inviting applications from the public which is very IPTS-like behaviour~ laugh.gif

The cost of the program is USD 100k. (see below)

at the moment no. they are using KLES Hospital as well.
There are rumours about them building a new hospital to accommodate future students though.
From what i'm seeing now is that my current first year juniors have 200 students in a batch now.
Plus the students from the USM-KLE campus...its gonna get really packed in that hospital.
*
That is what I thought. It will be crowded for both JNMC's and KLE-USM's students. The Indian Govt. hospitals are off-limits for Private Medical colleges, same is happening in MS Ramaiah Medical college. We are currently using nearby Hospitals and their resources for our training.

Added on January 9, 2012, 7:58 pm... an update;

Voucher for my campus (MSU-IMS Bangalore) has arrived~

Other medical students (IPTS) in India (eg: Manipal etc) - do take note of this~

Ask your college to bring this voucher to you since registered Malaysian students studying in IPTS/IPTA are eligible to get this~
It is the IPTS responsibility to give this voucher to you.

whilst for my degree, which uni and course should i go for?
i have a senior in the MSU-IMS programme and she says that its awesome over there,
my grandaunt herself is a lecturer in IMU and she says that IMU in not so bad,

You've got another step more (A-levels/STPM/Matric/etc) before getting into any degree program...~

if i wanted to do a-levels at a private uni, there won't be any bonding right?
and then, if i do get good results in my pre-u, *hopefully i do*
which uni should i go for my medical degree?
if i could, i would want a degree that can enable me to practice not only in  m'sia, but in other countries also.
and i also heard that if a particular degree is not recognised by another country, (lets say ireland) then i can't do my specialization there. is that true? just want to clarify that statement,
*
If you did A-Levels you can go almost anywhere you want (except perhaps our IPTAs)...
You won't be bound to study in the same institution for your degree program.

... and regarding recognition of medical degrees... that is upto the country's medical council/board (eg; Malaysian Medical Council, Singapore's, India's, British. etc)....

... and about the specialist training question - not necessarily...

Take for example the MRCP (UK) or MRCGP (International), they have many exam centres all over the world catering for foreign medical graduates, the parent country itself (eg; UK) may not recognized the basic medical degree of the candidate but they allow them to take the exam anyway~ (one need to pass PLAB in order to actually be allowed to practice medicine in UK with their foreign medical degree)

http://www.mrcpuk.org/SiteCollectionDocume...ions%202010.pdf

For your reference, here is a list of the basic specialist qualifications recognized in Malaysia:

https://www.nsr.org.my/fwbPage.jsp?fwbPageI...ficationListing

... and as for sub-specialty, here is what our former DG of Health have to say:

146 universiti China kini diiktiraf Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi

- BERNAMA

recognition of the specific degrees of medicine will remain with the mmc....which while saying they want the section 13/2 list shortened, will no doubt add a few hundred more should the political master say so.....

Public service department (SPA) will bypass MMC and recognize the degrees behind MMC's back...~
MMC will 'have to' follow suit later... as they did many2 times before~

Maldistribution and shortage~ here (India), no mbbs graduate wants to go to rural areas to work, among the reason given:

- interferes with post-graduate plans (here they can take-up PG course immediately after MBBS)
- Govt. salary suckssss
- interfere with family, housing, schooling of children, inadequate infrastructure etc etc...

Problems like this happen:

The Indian Govt. even try to introduce this because of the above mentioned problem:
