This is the easiest song i can find for now. As I am deaf to bass tones, maybe you should consider hearing yourself.

Btw, can I record two video and edit it to a one video track playing simultaneously?  rclxub.gif I can't explain it well but imagine a song with 2 different guitars.
lol baru nak cakap sweat.gif

The video and audio are recorded separately in my videos, and so does Setsukyie's video. You can use software to align the two, but you MUST have a common tempo to both for obvious reasons.

FYI I am using a very inefficient way to combine the video (I'm rendering 3D movies!!!)

Added on September 4, 2009, 6:07 amBTW, this Yasashii Uso gets passing marks for making life easier for the drummer! Just that the bass is quite varied, just like li My Love is a Stapler.

I wanna join as the bass player pl0x !! Clamy can be rhythm and I can be the lead !!!!!11111

Got rhythm bass meh? smile.gif Anyway I can always move to piano/keyboard... was my original musical instrument anyway. Alas, I don't have one now.

Also, after further analysis Yasashi Uso's drum, while not fast, is still a lot to memorize. After listing a couple of other songs, I'd say Lost My Music has the least drum piece to memorize.

Clamy , Watch this then you understand the purpose of 2 bass instead of 2 electric guitar .

But I'm not in Malaysia =(
Online band ? xD

That's a very unique setup there.

Well I follow the old school setup where the bass is primarily used to give tone and volume to the drum beat. There are players playing expressive bass, but someone has to cover the low tones - it's either the bass guitar or the synthesizer (keyboard).

Some years ago a jazz orchestra was giving a tutorial at the Petronas Orchestra hall and showed how important it is for the bass and drums to work together because the two forms the basic rhythm - probably more important than even drum + rhythm electric guitar.

Guess that's why it was Mio + Ritsu at the beginning of K-On. smile.gif

Haha... recorded Stone and I playing Drum and Bass for Ash Like Snow... he's about 80% there... playable, but definitely needs more fine tuning to sound good.

But hmmm... need to find way to make the recording sound better... I won't post the recorded video because cellphone microphone just sucks...

The camera just simply can't record the sound of a bass and a drum together ... Too much interference . Definitely need a very good video cam and editting skills there .
*
For my videos, I just use my cellphone camera - the LG Viewty. At 5MP it's pretty good (640x480 vids for youtube).

For sound I need to find ways to extend the FastTrack M-Audio audio in. I mean, recording the drums is a very tricky business.
a) Any recommendation for input mixers?
b) I also need to buy a special mic to be able to record the bass drum. Normal mics just seem to cut them off.

Wow, this thread really is cool! Thanks for the info! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

We're kinda a few steps behind before heading to a studio. Our immediate step is to get one song (most likely Ash Like Snow) played on all instruments, whether independently or as a group (prefer the later).

BTW, where is this studio?

i don have studio, but i m a student of SAE Singapore if u r interested let me know cheer nod.gif

Added on October 5, 2009, 10:04 pmi willing to do it for free

By SAE, I hope it's the SAE Institute branch in Subang Jaya, not the SAE in Singapore smile.gif. But like I said before, we are WAY AWAY from playing for proper recording. 1st step is to get at least a basic band setup playing a certain song, whether as a group or individually (most likely the later)

As discussed with Eccen, there's plans to mob my place this weekend in Kajang. Any musical instrument connectible to an audio cable will be recorded!

In the mean time, enjoy this cover piece by a veteran cover band - Himitsu Heiki (from Philippines). I REALLY envy having that kind of singer... Sobakasu, the way it should be played...

how is the prep??
bro how r u gonna record??
multi track ?? mind is u could send me a pic of recording i ll mix for u guys since i can record for you all lol
*
Well I have an M-Audio FastTrack connected to my PC (hence how I get to record my posted youtube videos). Sound is clean and does not interfere with the music played in the background (for synchronization).

QUOTE(ultimaweaponx @ Oct 13 2009, 01:17 PM)
too bad recording were not possible because we need at least 3 guitar input to the pc to record

not to mention cant properly record drum playing sound yet
*
Am lurking for a small mixer to pair with that M-Audio. Then you can ALL play at the same time

As for Sobakasu, at 80% there smile.gif
