QUOTE(kinni @ Jan 24 2014, 05:26 PM) Hello friends. I would like to ask is it normal for Macbook Air maximum only 4 hours and 30 minutes for 97 battery charged. I am currently using A1370 EMC 2471 Hi, For a 2011, A1370 EMC 2471 (11-inch) MBA, that sounds pretty normal. Plus, the 2011 model is almost three years. QUOTE(kinni @ Jan 24 2014, 05:59 PM) I see, thanks for your information and afford. Because I thought Mac Air can last even longer and my battery life cycle 2++ In other words, even though i send to repair or replace my Air it won't able to last longer? 2011 MBA (11-inch) is designed to last up to 5 hours. You can replace your battery if it only lasts like 2-3 hours. The newer 2013 MBA model has longer battery life though. Up to 9 hours for 11-inch model and 12-hours for 13-inch model. Even longer on Mavericks, which is almost 16 hours.

QUOTE(kinni @ Jan 24 2014, 06:34 PM) However, I've got some information about this. one of the Apple specialist quotes me 1190 and one that I found on internet only 900 but he said there might be minor uneven, dust or scratch after replace. Is this normal to screen replace? Based on what I read, 1K+ for MBA screen replacement seems normal to me.

QUOTE(kinni @ Jan 25 2014, 11:29 AM) I see, thanks for answer because yesterday I actually did call to machine and the staff told me the price will be about 1500-2000. It's really scared me. Lol IMO, if it is 2K, you better buy a new MBA, plus you will get a better battery life on it too. Repairing Macs can be expensive and FYI, replacing battery on your current MBA will cost you around MYR 500+, IIRC.

QUOTE(kinni @ Jan 25 2014, 09:40 PM) Yup, you are right. Actually, why is the repair price is so over for Apple? May I know, what application are you using to protect your Mac? Beside this, due to the needs. I am thinking of install Microsoft Office on MacBook, but some of the people told me this might slow down the MacBook. Is this true? I tried to search on internet but answer supporting both side yes and no. Apple products are premium products after all, maybe that's why. Plus it's not a common laptop, so not many shops can find the parts and have the skills to do the repair for you. For protection, right now, I only use avast! on my Mac, that's all. As for Microsoft Office on OS X, I don't experience any slow down on my system (I have MS Office 2011 installed).

QUOTE(Hummingbird @ Feb 8 2014, 03:12 PM) but it does consume slightly more power than iWorks, based on my observation. If it is just slightly, then maybe it is not noticeable to most users.
