I changed my MacBook's (white, plastic) battery after using it for the first year. I've been using the new battery for about 2 years already and iStatPro and System Profiler shyows that my battery's health is "100%". Btw, I'm using the first launched MacBook (white, plastic) which is MacBook 1.1, if not mistaken.

QUOTE(civic98 @ Dec 24 2008, 04:09 PM) Same as me, changed for a new one about a year, and till now it's showing perfect health. Actually above 100% at times. BUT it does hovers around 90%-100% some times. Readings are not totally accurate all the time. Better to test AFTER doing a calibration, that shoud be more accurate. Go to System Profiler under Power, there are details of your battery there including charge cycle. Wei is right, battery health should be tied with charge cycle and not how many moons anyone had used it. How'd you get above 100%? Btw, my "Cycle count" is "104". I always calibrate my battery every 6 months by following the method shown in Apple's website.

QUOTE(kenji82 @ Dec 26 2008, 10:33 AM) Do you take out your battery when you are on AC Power? QUOTE(nimrod323 @ Dec 26 2008, 10:55 AM) i dont think theres a need to take out the battery, the macbook bypasses the battery when it uses AC. Shouldn't remove the battery pack from MacBook/MacBook Pro when your using it because the charger doesn't charge the battery pack once it's full (green, 100%). Also, removing the battery pack and using it directly from the charger will cause your MacBook/MacBook Pro to run in lower performance mode due to the lack of power. You see, the MacBook/MacBook Pro draws power that can't be supplied through the charger itself so it requires help from the battery pack. Hope I've helped.
