Anyone here trying to keep a beard or moustache and realizes there's more pimples? I mean when i shave cleanly i dont really see any pimples!

Is it related in any way? tongue.gif

U got to have a proper face care routine if u wan to grow a beard or moustache. A lot of dirt and oil will get stuck between the hairs and if u r acne prone things will get worse. Try exfoliating with a gentle scrub a few times a week to get rid of the dirt stuck between the hairs. A few years ago I suffered the same prob as u when I was trying to grow a mouthstache. Nowadays I exfoliate my face often and i hardly get any pimples around the mouthstache/beard area. But being able to grow a mouthstache is a diff prob altogether LOL.

Yea i suspected the oil and dirt thing. The face gets oily after long hours. Pimples could also be cause by food intake right?

I did not shave for a week, trying to see how i will look. tongue.gif

Just trimmed the facial hair near the moustache and goatee area a little coz it feels to long compared to the sides. Now im looking for a style to follow.

Btw, is there any trimmer just to trim the facial hair? I have a electronic shaver but it can't trim. sad.gif

Moderation when it comes to food and everything else in life will help la with the pimples. For some reason whenever I have fast food, I will get a few pimples.

I can't comment on facial hair styles bro as i'm struggling over here in growing a decent looking beard.

My friend uses a Braun electric razor and with various attachments and settings he is able to maintain that scruffy 5 0'clock shadow look all the time. I'll ask him about when I meet up with him and i'll pm u d details.

What is a soul patch? Same here, having a hard time growing the beard. Extremely slow!

I just shaved my moustache off today, feels itchy when it gets long.

soul patch is that small patch of hair that grows under your lower lips, above the goatee.

@rockets and silverwave,

if u guys don't mind me asking...i'm assuming that both of u aren't Chinese? unless u 2 r one of the small minority of Chinese guys that can grow a proper looking facial hair.

i am chinese, but i don't see how facial hair has anything to do with race. it's just less common to see facial hair on chinese cause they prefer the conservative clean shaved look. i started shaving when i was very young so that may have helped, but i have problem growing beard near the jaw area so i wouldn't consider myself having complete facial hair either. i heard celebs use rogaine to grow facial hair, i dunno if i wanna go down that path though smile.gif.

Actually facial hair among other things has everything to do with race and genetics. I'm sure most Chinese guys can grow a light mouthstache and beard...but how often do u see a Chinese guy sporting thick facial hair ala Pep Guardiola.

I think i'm gonna read up more about Rogaine biggrin.gif

Haha yea i'm not Chinese but my beard never seems to grow until a little just recently. (can count the hair) tongue.gif

I've seen many Chinese with light facial hair but not many with super thick facial hair.

Hi guys, i have a VERY(trust me) oily skin, and i used quite alot of different products and still my face is oily. Thinking of using home remedy to counter this problem as my face is quite sensitive and cannot take product that are too strong. Any advice?

I have used the Simple Soap bar before because it said on the packaging that it is mild enough for face and body. That was a load of BS coz after just 3 days of using the bar twice a day my face got all flaky and red...and I have oily skin. My advice is not to use facial soap bars of any kind no matter what the manufacturer's claim is because soap bars contain a lot of harsh stabilizers and preservatives. It's these preservatives and stabilizers that make the biggest difference between facial foam and facial soap bar. Of course facial foam has preservatives too but generally speaking a soap bar is harsher on the skin.

Sometimes ur skin gets overly oily because of the face wash u r using and lack of moisturizing. Try not to use those oil control/sebum control face washes because they r overly strong and dry out your skin...which makes your skin produce more oil. Try using a light gel moisturizer after washing your face. If this still doesn't work then try using a mattifying sunscreen in the day...that's what i use to control the oilies. I'm using Biore UV Perfect Face Milk SPF 50.
