i'm currently using lab series and it's not very effective at getting rid of red pimple marks although i only get like a big once in a couple of months. the spot stays there for like months. i'm probably gonna give biotherm a try, the one jonny recommended since it has peeling effect but i dunno if its overkill though.

QUOTE(jind86 @ Jan 26 2010, 11:47 AM) so basically this is used as a pimple cream right? so what are the steps to face care with additional pimple cream? first: cleanse second: moisturize third: apply pimple cream? thats not a good way to use pimple cream unless you don't use moisturizers on your pimple areas. the moisturizer applies a protective layer which i think will make your pimple cream less effective if applied on top of the moisturizer. what i do is cleanse, apply cream, wait for like 15 mins to let the cream fully absorb, then moisturizer.

let us know how Avene Diacneal is working out for you guys . i have a colleague who used it before and she said the cream is quite thick so it is not vey suitable to apply to the whole face less you'll empty the whole tube in a week. she said it's mostly for spot treatment.

QUOTE(morning06 @ Feb 10 2010, 11:05 AM) hmm... coz i dunno whether my face is oily or dry? i really dun like asking them coz i know they will push product >.< what will you suggest if i have blackhead on nose and i wanted to clean those and minimize my pores? i assume my T-zone is oily coz my nose part and forehead will get oily after half day? if only your t-zone is oily then your skin type is "combination". if whole face oily then skin type is "oily".

QUOTE(liangyew89 @ Mar 16 2010, 01:11 AM) hmm guys, how bout skII & estee lauder for cleanser and toner compare to those products? and if my skin is naturally slightly dark, should i consider any whitening product to make my skin a lil fairer? my pimples are getting worse lately too, any recommendation? thanks in advance =) those products are catered for female users, i suppose guys could use them as well but it's probably better to stick with products made for men. as for skin tone, it's entirely up to you. some people prefer looking fair while others like a tan.

so jonny, have you gotten your Shiseido Moisturizing Emulsion yet? so far i'd read some reviwes about it but mostly from people in the US. it's probably not suitable for their weather as it was designed with asian weather in mind i think. i'm currently using something from origins, it's pretty decent but the price/ml is a real killer, like 15ml for rm50. any suggestions on what i should get next? need something light but not too light, oil control is a plus too.

The Shiseido Hydrating Lotion looks like liquid, how do you apply something like that to your face? I'm probably gonna try this one for a change(been using cream/gel products mostly), deos it come in different sizes or just 150ml?

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Mar 26 2010, 12:14 PM) The Hydrating Lotion is actually a hydrating toner but with alcohol. I got oily skin so the amount of moisturization is sufficient for me and I only use it in the daytime. The bottle comes with a drip type nozzle so a few drops onto my palm (a 5 sen size coin puddle) is more than enough to cover my face and neck. The moist emulsion is basically a thicker heavier version of the hydrating lotion. It only comes in 150ml but right now Shiseido does have trial packs which come with 20/30ml hydrating lotion, moisturizing emulsion, cleansing foam and 15ml total revitalizer...all for RM99. nice, gonna go for the trail pack.

QUOTE(jind86 @ Mar 30 2010, 07:07 PM) i wonder why even if i cleanse my face daily, and apply pimple cream i still get new pimples coming out.. hmmm.. i'll never understand lol.. how old are you jind? cause if you're at the stage where you're still experiencing hormonal changes, no external products will help you. you'll have to take stuff like accutane to see any results.

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Mar 31 2010, 12:48 PM) Sorry to butt in rockets... Acne and pimples are a normal part of life and as guys our testosterone makes us more prone to acne. Unless your acne condition is very severe, there is no need to take accutane as the side effects are harsh. A good skin care routine of cleansing and moisturizing, good diet, enough sleep and less stress if possible is all u need to keep acne at bay. This is true, accutane is very harsh on your liver and something i would consider very carefully before taking. About the right time to consider accutane is when acne starts to interfere with your daily life; like if you're a model, a sales agent or if you're tryin to tackle some hot girls , a huge acne on your nose is going to put the brakes on whatever you're trying to do. A good routine deos helps but it will never be as effective as accutane. I think some people are just tired of acne and just want to get rid of it. And I don't blame them because nothing is more frustrating than seeing a pimple heal and its scar fade away after waiting for months only to have a new one grow beside it .

i've been trying shiseido hydrating lotion samples a few days now, so far i'm liking it. only problem is that after a few hours it starts to turn sticky on my face....i'm not sure why it's doing this but i had similar problems when using products with matte/oil control. when my gf touched my face she was like "did you put glue on your face?" lol. do you guys have this problem?

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Apr 19 2010, 04:11 PM) I only have this prob when I use too much hydrating lotion. How much do u use ? It took me a few tried before figuring out the amount acceptable for my face. Right now I use a 5sen size amount (maybe lesser) spread between my hands and apply to face, concentrating the drier places like cheeks and neck. The remainder I spread over my t zone. First I pat dry then I massage in till dry. i use about 10 drops total. 4 drops per side including nose and another 2 drops for forehead. am i using too much? it deoosn't feel like i've used too much though as it is about just enough to cover my face comfortably without stretching the lotion too thin.

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Apr 19 2010, 04:49 PM) IMO that's really too much hydrating lotion. A few times I poured out too much and the lotion took really long to dry and formed this sticky layer (like a mask) and made me real miserable the whole day. Unless u have really dry skin u shud try using less. U would be surprised as even a small amount of the hydrating lotion easily covers a lot of skin. Plus I feel that when u apply it bit by bit across the face, its hard to get an even layer. Try pouring the lotion in your hand, spread around both hands and pat onto face. It's faster and u get a more even layer. Based on my estimation of usage, my 150ml hydrating lotion could possibly last me 10-12 months. thanks, i'll give that a shot. but i could see alot of it wasted on my hands as i have really absorbant skin lol.

QUOTE(seiken @ Jun 29 2010, 08:15 PM) Hi, how do I whiten my skin back? I went to Redang and despite using sunblock, my face still end up getting tanned....haih it'll go away naturally in a few weeks as long as you avoid the sun. at least that is how it is for me, i can never keep a tan even if i wanted too .

jonny, did you ever get the Shiseido Total Revitalizer? was thinking of adding this to my routine but the price is abit steep, if it can last at least 3 months of daily use then maybe i'd consider it. right now i'm just using hydrating lotion, it's good at preventing breakouts but my skin has lost it's glow, so i'm thinking bout usin hydrating only in the day while some repair cream at night.

QUOTE(silverwave @ Jul 18 2010, 12:42 AM) Btw, is there any trimmer just to trim the facial hair? I have a electronic shaver but it can't trim. u can get a cheap trimmer from watson's, it's their in house brand. cost like 20 bucks if im not wrong. i can grow moustache, soul patch and goatee, but not beard =/. u could try the tony stark look in ironman, i tried that but high maintainance lol. QUOTE(silverwave @ Jul 19 2010, 10:14 PM) What is a soul patch? Same here, having a hard time growing the beard. Extremely slow! I just shaved my moustache off today, feels itchy when it gets long. soul patch is that small patch of hair that grows under your lower lips, above the goatee.

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Jul 20 2010, 03:40 PM) @rockets and silverwave, if u guys don't mind me asking...i'm assuming that both of u aren't Chinese? unless u 2 r one of the small minority of Chinese guys that can grow a proper looking facial hair. i am chinese, but i don't see how facial hair has anything to do with race. it's just less common to see facial hair on chinese cause they prefer the conservative clean shaved look. i started shaving when i was very young so that may have helped, but i have problem growing beard near the jaw area so i wouldn't consider myself having complete facial hair either. i heard celebs use rogaine to grow facial hair, i dunno if i wanna go down that path though .
