yup similar to those, but those particles were kinda tiny... my only concern is it might get stuck in the pores while scrubbing. Would definitely prefer their skin prep scrub... its a very good scrub in my opinion, it smoothen my skin while hydrating it, doesn't feel drying after scrubbing
*
Don't worry those scrub particles won't clog your pores instead those particles will unclog pores...the smaller the particles the better as it irritates the skin less.

The Shiseido Hydrating Lotion looks like liquid, how do you apply something like that to your face? I'm probably gonna try this one for a change(been using cream/gel products mostly), deos it come in different sizes or just 150ml?
*
The Hydrating Lotion is actually a hydrating toner but with alcohol. I got oily skin so the amount of moisturization is sufficient for me and I only use it in the daytime. The bottle comes with a drip type nozzle so a few drops onto my palm (a 5 sen size coin puddle) is more than enough to cover my face and neck. The moist emulsion is basically a thicker heavier version of the hydrating lotion. It only comes in 150ml but right now Shiseido does have trial packs which come with 20/30ml hydrating lotion, moisturizing emulsion, cleansing foam and 15ml total revitalizer...all for RM99.

nice, gonna go for the trail pack.

If u do get the Shiseido Men products don't follow the application instructions that tell u to "apply generously" or "use 2 pumps". I followed their instructions initially and it was really way too much for me. Just apply accordingly to your skin's needs should be fine already.

Here's a good regimen for the face both guys and girls especially if you suffer from oily skin prone to acne.

Before bed, wash face with a soap for sensitive skin such as dove soap.

Dry your face, then apply Magnesium Hydroxide over the entire face. Magnesium Hydroxide is commonly called "Milk of Magnesia" and can be bought over the counter at any pharmacy. Its completely safe. user posted image

It absorb the oil and dirt from your skin, leaves it soft and opens up your pores much better to relieve pimples.

Repeat this every night before you go to bed, it won't cure your acne but it will help prevent breakouts. rolleyes.gif
*
I know that Milk of Magnesia is used by many makeup artists to prep the skin up for makeup. I hear it works very well to control facial oil because it basically closes up the pores so no oil can seep out. I wanted to try it but I have i have also read that many people have complained that they had bad breakouts caused by the pores being clogged with MoM and the alkali nature of MoM.

So please don't claim using MoM is completely safe because some guys here will just follow blindly and might get bad results on their faces. Everyone's mileage always varies biggrin.gif

hmm, i remember looking at it, it looks so small and tiny like crystals... you know the garnier moisturiser when u apply and it dries and from those small crystals? exactly similar thing, but its used as a scrub particle... another thing about this scrub is that it also works as a mask... lol 2 in 1 product
*
Well a scrub only stays on the skin a few minutes at most so I dun see the risk of the pores getting clogged. Plus how fine can the scrub particles get ? too fine and it serves no purpose already.

I dont dare to try lol... even the SA recommend me not to try after i told her I get lots of oil seed using moisturizing emulsion just at night for 1 week. The week after that, breakout starts to occur at some part of my face... whoa.. I guess I'm in phobia to try any rich moisturizer anymore. In fact the moisturizing emulsion is for dry skin... so perhaps I understand why I'm getting such bad effect on my face.

Edit: total revitalizer is rm200++... for 50ml.... u really dont mind? its really pricey...  sweat.gif
*
I was told by the SA the moist emulsion is for all skin types. I do agree as I been using it for about a month and it has improved my skin...no breakouts or any side effects even though my skin is oily. Probably at your age u don't need moisturizers just yet...it's the opposite for me as I'm almost reaching 30. The total revitalizer has good anti aging and antioxidant properties so RM250 for 50ml is alright for me.

Perhaps its time for you to get the sample before buying... if i know 2/3 of the products doesn't work on me, I would have just bought the cleanser straight away rather than the trial kit.

Just a question, if that particular moisturiser clogs ure skin when u r in ure mid 20's, will they do the same thing when you are mid 30's? Quite curious about this.
*
First thing is to determine whether the moisturizer is the cause of the clogging of pores. Sometimes it's just a coincidence or a combination of products caused the breakouts. Maybe some ingredients in the moisturizer does not suit your skin. Looking at the ingredient list of the moist emulsion I don't see anything that is potentially pore clogging..but some ingredients like Betula Alba (birch bark extract) and Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (licorice root extract) might be the cause. The other humectants and skin conditioners in the moist emulsion won't clog pores and is probably present in almost all oil free moisturizers. Alcohol can also be another cause as the moist emulsion does contain it but in acceptable amounts for most people. Sorry a bit off topic...

Skin changes and if u r oily skinned now for example things will be different when u r in your 30s...but allergies don't.

Hmm if i recall correctly, those ingredients also occur in hydrating lotion, and its working so well for me lol...

Different concentrations of ingredients between the 2 products. U should try it once more to see if the product really is the cause.

yeah i guess so, but i need to clear out this batch of spots first before trying... else i cannot determine the actual product cause

Yea that should be the best way to go about it.

Guys. After you use the shiseido hydrating lotion for a long time does it make your skin glowy? I'm looking for products that give that kind of result.

Btw how much is the 150ml size? Isnt it weird to have it packaged in a cylinder with rectangular cross-section?
*
I been using it for about a month now and I does seem my skin looks better...but it could caused by other products im using haha. Hydrating Lotion provides basic moisture to skin that's it. If u want something more effective u gotta get the serums and creams I guess...u know the expensive ones LOL.

the 150ml costs RM130. I dun find the packaging weird...it looks very nice and is very functional...it has a drip type nozzle so wont end up using too much. I bought the RM99 trial pack today coz I wanted to try the total revitalizer cream.

So what did you think of the total revitalizer?  tongue.gif
*
I just applied the total revitalizer minutes ago and its really light and goes on smooth...i thought it would be creamy n heavy...it seems more gel than cream. It feels even lighter than the moist emulsion tbh haha. But it's too expensive to use every night sad.gif so im planning to use it 2-3 nights a week and the moist emulsion on other nights.. The SA at mid valley was very generous and cute...I was given 4 samples..scrub, 2 hydrating lotion and one cleanser...I din even ask for samples and she gave me 4 haha. I probably have enuf Shiseido Men products now to last me one whole year LOL.

LOL, hrm... maybe not, the cleanser seems to finish fast even when I use 5 cent portion. As I bought the trial pack cleanser, its 30ml. I think I've used it for 1 month+.. ok make it 1.5 months. I don't think the 125ml cleanser will last me 6 months lol...
*
In my case I have 1 30ml cleanser, a regular size 125ml and 3 more 7ml samples. So that's why i said i got a one year supple haha. Been using my 125ml tube for 1.5months and i think there is still quite a lot left...but i do agree that 6months would be a little on the impossible side. But compared to my other gel based cleanser the Shiseido Cleansing Foam is more economical as I need to use less.

err guys~ 1st time here~

wanna ask u guys~

has any of u try dermajuv or lifecell product yet?

those to reduce acne scars.

thinking to get it, some review is good, some is bad (skin sensitivity is another factor though). really cant decide which one.

this is dermajuv site i been reading.
http://www.dermajuv.com/shop/acne-scars-removal-system.html

while for lifecell, dunno which product is the best to cure acne scars.
*
Haven't tried that brand yet. Just look at the ingredients of both and so some research. Glycolic acid and retinol are 2 of the best known ingredients that have been proven to successfully fade acne scars. Take note that these 2 ingredients will cause irritation and photosensitivity.

i m looking for a cleanser that can remove oil n lighten my scar at the same time...is it useful to use whitening cleanser?
*
I find most cleansers that promise oil control, whitening and anti acne to be gimmicks because how effective can the cleanser be when u are going to wash it off anyway. Better u save the money and invest in a good whitening serum.

didnt have much luck with the avene diacneal.. changed my cleanser to Neutrogena deep cleansing foam and is using some traditional pimple solution..
*
Retinal products take 2-3 months (sometimes up to 6 months) to see a real noticeable difference. Lots of people expect fast results and end up giving up fast. But something like Diacneal is more suited for guys aged 25 and above.

U should give up another month or 2. Not using a strong sunscreen in the day will make lessen the benefit of Diacneal.

how bout the clearance k? i jz bought the starting kid for acne skin...actually i jz wan to try the clearance k but is quite exp. for a big one, so i jz try first...anyone try it b4?
*
I've only tried Diacneal but it all depends on how your skin responds to BHA and AHA. Cleanance K is more for light acne/teenage acne with blackhead and whiteheads problems. Diacneal is more for adult type of acne plus the ingredients in Diacneal also very effective in smoothing out wrinkles. Don't use Cleanance K in the day as the BHA and AHA will make your skin very sensitive to sunlight. So the starter kit comes with the usual cleanser, toner and Cleanance K ? IIRC i think it comes with a small can of thermal spring water.

yup, it contains cleanser, spring water, clearance k n oil control emulsion...
i m recently looking for somthg tat can reduce acne scar n brighten my skin...
but seems hard to find...
*
Cleanance K should be able to brighten the scars...but it needs time la...probably a few months..so don't expect instant results...also there is a high possibility of breakouts occurring when u first start using AHA and BHA products...so u got to be patient and persevere. But if the breakouts keep on reoccurring for more den 1 month that means the product don't suit your skin most probably. If Cleanance K doesn't work u can try Diacneal as it is working quite well for me in lightening acne scars. Please let me know whether the Oil control emulsion works or not as I am looking for something that controls oil.

Cleansers with glycolic acid would be suitable for your needs then..I have seen a few good ones online but haven't come across locally. I'll keep a look out for you...what's your budget for face cleanser ?
