2309 is consider as mid-range n it's made in Japan ...

I am using 2309 and i like it after few weeks ...Not quite used to the sound at first but I really like the Audessey because I usually watch movies at night (after 10pm) ...

By the way .... new product is coming .. Media box with Full HD and DTS-HD function are coming soon ...expecting 70 Bluray Titles in two 3TB drives ...Price around 3-4K ...

I will probably carry some Onkyo next year .. waiting for the best price from my distributor ...but my main products are still Denon & Marantz & Mordaunt Short & Proac.

The xx10 series will probably be here end of August or September. Still waiting for the price list.

yes 2309 being replaced by 2310, 2809 being replaced by 3310.
2309 will drop by not 2809 coz 2809 is made in japan.
All the new 2010 denon models are Made in China now.

One other thing, the new anchor bay chip upscaler in the 2xxx series vs 4xxx are totally different.
Video output from 4310 is amazing and looks obvious even when projected out tru Optoma HD-65.

I totally agreed with Mikapoh on the Denon and Marantz characteristic on Movies & Music.
Too many people have been debating on whether to get Marantz or Denon.

Sound Quality between Denon n Marantz are quite close.
People used to get Denon for most of the 2xxx series are Made in Japan when ALL Marantz are Made in China.
People get Marantz for the new look and extra features at the lower end models. Like SR6003 supports dual HDMI output.

For those who wants to listen to music more than movies, I still recommend you guys to stick to entry level Integrated Stereo Amp from Marantz and get the Denon AVR. A question to answer for yourself : "Are you going to sit in front of your system in the sweet spot to listen to ur music using AVR 5.1 or 7.1 setup?" You probably will be moving around or even doing something else while enjoying the music. Unless u r a stereophile, I think you can get Denon or even Marantz AVR n can't be wrong. There r people who likes the sound from Denon and there are people who prefer Marantz. So, conclusion, in order to select the right AVR, this is the basic rules:

1) Design & Look
2) Features vs Price
3) Usability & Upgradability

Sound Quality : Please Audit yourself with the speakers that u r planning to buy or already owned.
NEVER trust others' ears because I might like the sound but you might not.
Go See It, Feel It, Listen It and finally Match It with the speakers.

AVR3808 is older. Should get AVR3808a..cost around RM5K too if you can find in KL.

If can support local dealers, better do to avoid warranty claim issue.
