WTA all Denon (or other AVR) users. Mebbe noob question, but whats the proper steps in swtching on AVR/TV/BD Player? Reason why I am asking is sometimes, theres no sound when I start playing, and I have to switch the AVR off and on back again for the audio to happen. Video's OK.

QUOTE(anfieldude @ Nov 16 2009, 04:38 PM) Welcome to the wonderful world of HDMI.... hhmmm.... so no real solution, eh?Unfortunately, there is no correct recipe to ensure handshaking 100% of the time. U need to play around with ur sequence and see which sequence gives the highest success then follow that. In my case with my older AVR, I had to turn on display 1st, then AVR then BD player. My newer AVR is not so fussy, any sequence works. My advise is if u start seeing more frequent HDMI handshaking problems to do a "factory reset" on the AVR to clear all EDID memory storage. I tot something wrong with my AVR OK, will try the various firing sequences to see which results in the perfect launch, though currently i just on/off the AVR till got audio ... |

QUOTE(terranova @ Nov 16 2009, 06:42 PM) I always thought that the general rule is to switch on the AVR last. Anyway that's how i've configured it for my Harmony remote. So far so good. yup, thats what i followed - AVR last. dats why I am surprised sometimes i still have to switch off and on again for the audio to come on. funny thing is for video its OK .. In lone*wolf's case, it sounds like you'll need to fire up the AVR last. nothing wrong with my AVR, right? |
