Wow... so you must be a very good salesman. Well from your reply it's what usually sales people do. Persuade, entertain and so on to get sales. Guess I have a long way to go till your level haha.

Guess I have a long way to go till your level haha. I have some level of skill, but I would not say that I am particularly better than a lot of other people that do what I do.The key is to have the consistent opportunity to pitch to the right people, and have a constant flow of such people. Purely a numbers game. I suppose I am just fortunate that I get to have this opportunity. Unfortunately, there is nothing to prevent this from slowing down or stopping, so one has to be careful in assuming that such success occurs in perpetuity. |

QUOTE(stylophile @ Jul 12 2011, 09:36 PM) Stylophile, let me introduce you to Zuperpent. He was quite the celebrity on this forum a few years back when I found him neatly folded, new but unloved for RM7 at a secret shop. It is constructed like no other pants on this forum. From Japan. Linen blend.all my suits are fine. the owner's shirt is an abomination upon the earth. he wore a much better shirt during the day event. Added on July 14, 2011, 1:00 amSome random facts: I was the only Malaysian at the table. The CEO wore an Aigner tie. He came dressed in a bespoke mid grey odd jacket with dark wool pants. After a while he took it off and draped it over his chair. This was the signal the others were waiting for and they all took off their jackets after that. Except me. (Mine is linen and half-lined so it is no discomfort. Not to mention the linen blend trousers.) The customers were dressed more formally in the day. About half were suited, all from Commonwealth countries. The CEO was suited in the day, then did this odd jacket ensemble at night. Both jackets were (very good) bespoke. Despite the international travel not a single wrinkle. He wore black tasseled loafers. No one else wore his suit as well as the CEO (if you exclude me). The others look terrible in their suits, even senior vice presidents. All the Singaporeans wore bespoke shirts. One has questionable taste in fabric and cut. Shirt was too shiny, and cut too close to the body. Generally the Singaporean shirts were cut all a bit too close to the body. Except for the star salesman, his shirt fit was excellent (looser) given his body (rotund). Business shirts should be looser. Star salesman has a pen pocket within his breast pocket for his Mont Blanc. But questionable taste in pattern. This post has been edited by kotmj: Jul 14 2011, 01:00 AM |

But questionable taste in pattern. you didn't include the fella who is 2nd from the left in the photo in your roll call. honest mistake, as 2nd from right qualified as factory worker. now that that's been settled, i meant that i am loving the star salesman's shirt. your preferred purveyor of shirting has one like that but in a nicer blue. are you sure your shoulder is fine? i keep seeing a lump. your jacket might have cancer. |

QUOTE(d3vilzzzz @ Jul 13 2011, 11:24 AM) lol, no. although i have been featured in a few M'sian and S'porean magazines. I wouldn't mind sharing some photos (attention whore) although it's quite off-topic and I've been posting a lot of off-topic content lately. The niece of the owner of the Padini Group is the heir to the Vincci company. She was featured in the Malaysian Tatler. Honestly, the first thing I thought was - wow, you really want that much attention?! When I talked to her she said she was forced to do it for the sake of publicity and the company. Not sure how true that is. Anyways, you can find her working at the KL store like a regular employee, short hair, stylish, and either wearing a Toywatch or a Panerai.
