Most prob because it the apples don't smell like fresh apples but more like synthetic sweet apple candy-ish. Honestly I have tried this maybe a few times and I can't really remember how it smells like. I guess it was so boring that it didn't make an impression on me. But I should test Be Delicious this weekend...who knows maybe my taste has changed and I'll end up liking Be Delicious.

If u like DKNY Men you should go for it and wear it with pride. Nothing worse than buying a perfume just because someone says it's nice but u yourself don't really like it. I find DKNY Men to be safe and uninteresting..perfect for office and interviews.

razorcyrus and Jind86 are right.

Just to add, Bulgari's founder was Greek but the company is based in Italy.

Bulgari with a "u" is a bit easier to type than Bulgari with a "v".

Do u guys realize that we are getting charged RM200 on average for fragrances that smell alright but only last 4-5 hrs and most of the time these fragrances are so weak that a person would have to be so close in order to get a whiff of the expensive cologne we are wearing.

The trend now in male fragrances is fresh, light and non-offensive. I actually don't mind those kind but come on....at least make them a little longer lasting. It was so different in the 80s when almost all colognes for men were so strong that u only needed to apply a small amount.

But as time goes by, counters here are slowly phasing out the older scents to make space for more short lasting smell alike fragrances. I feel sad sometimes when i see this happening and I hold on to my classics from the 80s a little tighter LOL. But i guess it's just the preference of Malaysian males to prefer fresh and light scents rather than the 80s powerhouses. In Europe for example, a lot of the classics are still doing very well compared to here.

So u guys that love the classics scents like me better start stocking up as one fine day they will just stop selling them here.

Nothing wrong with men buying and using women's perfume. It's all in the packaging. If u take a women's perfume, label it as "pour Homme" and let a guy try it i'm certain that guy would not find the perfume feminine. Many recent releases are quite feminine and I think a woman won't hesitate to buy n use. Examples are YSL L'Homme, Kenzo Power, Prada Amber Pour Homme, Dior Homme and Paco Rabanne Black XS. See the emphasis on Homme in those perfumes...all marketing n packaging techniques.

I always thought that perfumes for men and for women are actually the same thing, but the male version are modified/altered top and heart notes of the latter or vice versa?

I think they are just constructed differently that's all.

When u say altered/modified notes i think u r referring to the male and female version of the same name/brand..for example D&G Light Blue Pour Homme and Pour Femme. As the female version is usually released 1st, most of the time the perfumer will try create a male version in a similar theme to the female version. However often the two versions smell different with little or no similarities..however this is very subjective. But i always have the thought that male versions are usually not as well designed and made compared to female version.

Drydown a.k.a base notes is the main part of the fragrance. The drydown becomes prominent usually about 3-4 hrs after the first spray. But this is subjective and varies from fragrance to fragrance. Some might take an hour to reach drydown stage while others may take 6-8 hrs. A lot of people have the misconception that a fragrance smells the same from start to finish and often complain when after 3-4 hrs the fragrance smells weak/different. Majority of fragrances are created to have 3 stages ---> top notes, heart/middle notes and base notes/drydown. A good fragrance usually have these 3 stages and the even better ones can have very different smelling top notes and base notes.

There are 2 types of musk. The first type is musk obtained from the special gland of animals like the civet cat and musk deer. This type of musk gives a dirty, animalic smell that some people love and others hate because it gives a dirty B.O-ish kind of smell. I can't stand musk dominant fragrances and I prefer musk in the base notes mixed with woods and something sweet to even the whole fragrance out. A lot of fragrances released in the 80s and 70s have an element of musk inside them. Examples are YSL Kouros, Givenchy Gentleman and Aramis 1965. However the musk in a lot of these kind of fragrances have been toned down to appeal to the current taste that prefers more clean smelling fragrances. Note that modern perfumes no longer used animal based musk as it is illegal. The musk used is synthetic but still smells very true to the original animal derived musk.

This brings us to the 2nd type of musk which is white musk. This type of musk is fairly common in many post 2000 fragrances. It is kind of hard to describe how white musk smells like. White is purely synthetic and has no counterpart whatsoever in nature. However to me white musk smells clean and slightly fruity and tame compared to the other kind of musk. The best example of white musk is CK Be. Compare CK Be to something like Aramis 1965 and they smell worlds apart.

Is Versace Man Eau Fraiche the new Aqua di Gio in Malaysia ? It looks like every Ahmad, Ah Seng and Ramu seems to have a bottle. If true, I think I will save my money for something less common.
