QUOTE(neekun @ Jan 19 2010, 07:19 PM) I love Concentrée D'Orange Verte too. I got 2 samples of it. Thinking to get it when I finished the sample. Good to hear man Hehe...no worries I spotted a Concentee D'Orange Verte gift set (50ml edt+matching bar soap) for RM230 at Isetan Gardens. I think there are a few more gift sets comprising of a toiletry bag, 50ml edt and bar soap for RM230 at Parkson KLCC and Pavilion. You could have a look at them if u interested in getting Concentree. |

QUOTE(Allen88 @ Jan 19 2010, 11:38 PM) Hi jonny4, wanna ask yr opinion on this 3 cologne: Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey For Him/Pour Homme - Quite a unique smelling aquatic IMO and rather long lasting too. This one is one of the most long lasting aquatics I know of. However, I can't really stand the sweet floral drydown but it's a well made perfume that beats a lot of the newer stuff. a) Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey For Him b) Gucci Pour Homme ii c) Sean John Unforgivable Gucci Pour Homme II - A slightly woody cinnamon and tea dominant perfume that is fresh and light and has a unique smell to it. Longevity is average and is quite subtle too. This will be a good office scent. A good versatile frag that is great for both casual and formal events. Sean John Unforgivable - A rather common fresh citrus frag with a touch of woods. Very predictable and rather boring. Unforgivable is slightly better than the rest in its genre. Nothing to shout about but would be another pleasant scent suitable for the office. Don't expect to stand out when wearing Unforgivable. My favourite among the 3 would be Gucci Pour Homme II. It's quite decently priced too and the design of the bottle is really nice and bloody heavy too..you could literally kill someone with that bottle. |

QUOTE(Allen88 @ Jan 20 2010, 08:42 AM) Lol, nice one. Thx a lot, now i know which one to choose, with extra feature to kill someone.. How much will the Gucci Pour Homme ii 100ml cost? I bought my 50ml bottle for RM180+ iirc. So a 100ml should be around RM250-270. U can get it cheaper at Just Parfum and Perfume Jewel. Around RM20-30 cheaper but no free gifts (samples). |

So y u need me to repeat stuff i edi said about those perfumes on the list...it's going to be the same thing really. I'll give u the benefit of the doubt,1. M7 by YSL 2. Kouros by YSL 3. Body Kouros by YSL 4. Gucci Pour Homme 5. Gucci Envy 6. Terre D' Hermes 7. Aramis 1965 8. Aramis Gold Thanks in advance.... 1. M7 by YSL - sweet and woody 2. Kouros by YSL - very masculine and strong 3. Body Kouros by YSL - i have not tried this one yet 4. Gucci Pour Homme - extreme woodiness 5. Gucci Envy - sweet oriental with pepper 6. Terre D' Hermes - stony mineral sweetness with vetiver in the drydown 7. Aramis 1965 - leathery and spicy 8. Aramis Gold - same as above (they are the same, unless u mean Aramis EDT Concentrate) Please use the thread search function located at the bottom of the page if u want more detailed thought on the above perfumes. QUOTE(Black Judy @ Jan 23 2010, 03:41 PM) It used to be fairly easy to get at most YSL counters but in recent months there seems to be either some kind of distribution prob or they planning to close down the YSL counters. As I bought my bottle of RG a year ago, I am no longer sure which counters have stock and testers.Btw, I am referring to the male Rive Gauche (brown can) not the female Rive Gauche (blue can). The last bottle I bought was JPG Le Male earlier this month. I am really loving that one haha. I really don't plan to buy many bottles this year. If u do buy Body Kouros do let me know how if it is good. A few reviews say it is similar to Le Male and Bulgari Black because of the sweet vanilla. As I already have Le Male and BB, it would be a waste of money if Body Kouros is too similar.

QUOTE(caj178 @ Jan 30 2010, 08:48 PM) hey..any perfume recommended for 19 yrs old? Try Chanel Platinum Egoiste and Paco Rabanne XS Pour Homme if u want something similar to Eternity. They have they same fresh vibe but are different enough to stand apart. U will get some similarities here n there in the notes and they are less commonly worn compared to Eternity. Personally I prefer XS and Platinum over Eternity. something light and comfortable..i like the smell of CK eternity..but my friend has been using it..dont want to use the same perfume. what do u think of davidoff coolwater? Davidoff Cool Water is quite good IMO. But it is one of the most commonly worn fragrances together with Aqua di Gio so son't expect to stand out wearing CW. Also expect comments like "U smell like my ex" and "Bro why u go buy CW for ? Now we smell the same la". CW is one of the most copied smells around and even Glade has a Cool Water clone for the room and car But i have no qualms about wearing CW though as I love it. |

QUOTE(caj178 @ Feb 1 2010, 02:24 AM) hmm..between Chanel Platinum Egoiste n Paco Rabanne XS Pour Homme which 1 do u prefer? I prefer Paco XS over Platinum because XS has a slightly softer smell smell compared to Platinum and its metallic like note. But I am fond of both and also which 1 last longer? Platinum Egoiste lasts longer than XS. Platinum has the ability to fill up a room with a few sprays. But XS ain't a slouch when it comes to longevity and sillage....it's very decent but loses out when compared to Platinum. |

QUOTE(Clavicus @ Feb 4 2010, 06:22 AM) Yo jonny, or anyone else who has tested Burberry Sport, what's your take on it? Just saw it in the papers recently, iinm there's red Ginger among other spices. Getting kinda bored of generic aqua fragrances, thought I'd give this one a go. Maybe this weekend. Burberry Sport ? Is there such a frag? Maybe i'm outdated haha. Maybe you are referring to Burberry Weekend or Burberry Summer ? If so these 2 are no different from the generic aqua frags u r trying to avoid. Edit: After checking online, I just remembered that I came across some info about Burberry Sport some time last year. Sorry my bad. Thanks for refreshing my memory. The notes look interesting but with the word "sport" it kind of puts me off the frag. One of the listed notes is marine breeze, that's a serious indication that it will be another aquatic frag. But I will definitely try this. It's set to be launched this month but whether or not it will be available in msia so quickly we just have to wait and see. QUOTE(OdynVovk @ Feb 4 2010, 03:06 PM) does anyone here know of any scent that is rare (meaning not a bestseller) but is surprisingly pleasant. prefereably with your own anecdotal experience like compliments from gf,women etc. the thing about perfumes is that when u buy those really popular and commercialized ones theres a high possiblity of ending up smelling like the person next to you. The ones that spring to my mind are Dior Fahrenheit, Prada Infusion d'Homme, Mugler Cologne, YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme and Creed Original Vetiver. Depending on where u are from, these frags are not commonly worn but are compliment magnets.Added on February 4, 2010, 3:54 pm QUOTE(God Warrior @ Feb 4 2010, 02:57 PM) POLO FRAGRANCE I imagine u are looking for cheaper prices, try places like Just Parfum and Perfume Jewel. Their prices are 20%-30% cheaper compared to the department store counters. You could also try LYN where there are numerous WTS threads...but whether original or not I have no comment.Guys, can anyone tell me where I can buy a nice Polo Fragrance for women? Tell me the price range too if possible. Thank you for your time! This post has been edited by jonny4: Feb 4 2010, 03:54 PM |

QUOTE(OdynVovk @ Feb 4 2010, 05:53 PM) If u want to get something on a totally different level and price range, look out for niche frag houses like Amouage, L'Artisan Perfumer and Annick Goutal. Try getting samples from these houses.Added on February 4, 2010, 6:07 pm QUOTE(Clavicus @ Feb 4 2010, 05:40 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Scan from the newspaper that led me to the post. Good news for all CK Eternity fans, CK has launched Eternity Aqua. It should be hitting our aquatic loving shores very soon
I'm a big fan of aquatic frags and I am very eager to try this. So update us on this thread if u spot Eternity Aqua in Malaysia. Eternity Aqua notes, according to Basenotes.net, hilled cucumber, citrus cocktail, water lotus and watery green leaves; The heart notes are plum, pepper, red berries, lavender and white cedar. Base notes of sandalwood, guaiac wood, patchouli, musk. |

QUOTE(ivanchin99 @ Feb 17 2010, 11:16 AM) What's your thoughts on AZZARO Chrome? Azzaro Chorme is a very good fresh scent with one of the best longevity. There are not many fresh scents that can rival Chrome in terms of longevity. It smells very similar to CK One in the top notes but Chrome gets very metallic smelling and cold while CK One gets quite floral and sweet. I find Chrome a more masculine version of CK One (CK one was released 1st). Similar to CHANEL Allure Homme Sport? I had a perfume test paper applied with chanel sport 12hrs ago and placed approx 100cm from me, can still smell it. I like the smell too What about Lagerfeld by Karl Lagerfeld and John Varvatos? There are some slight similarities with Allure Sport because both are fresh aquatics with strong citrus top notes. In terms of longevity, AHS is long lasting but loses out to Chrome. But don't get fooled by the smell and longevity on the test paper strip. It's kind of a sales ploy because even perfumes with the shortest longevity last much longer on paper. I got fooled a few times in the past. Try spraying on your skin (arm) preferably and judge the sillage, longevity and development from there. Karl Lagerfield and John Varvatos frags I haven't come across in Malaysia before. If u see any locally do let me know ! |

QUOTE(Clavicus @ Feb 18 2010, 09:12 PM) Perfume + boredom + Google = Coffee Beans and Perfume Coffee Beans and Perfume...I don't get it man LOLEDIT: Anyone uses Bvlgari Black? Apparently you smell like burnt rubber after applying it. Intriguing, especially after seeing citrus/aqua/blue fragrances almost every other day. Yeah I have a bottle of Bulgari Black (BB). There is a significant burnt rubber note at the start and I quite enjoy in a weird sort of way. But the burnt rubber note gets less prominent and BB start to smell more of vanilla. I think I'm going to wear BB tomorrow haha. Thanks for reminding me of BB You should test it out one day as it quite one of a kind but nowadays hard to locate a tester because not many buy or know about BB. It's supposed to be unisex btw. Check out Dior Fahrenheit, YSL Rive Gauche and Dior Homme if u r tired of all the blue boring aquatic crap. Smelling some of these unique frags can be quite the experience. |

QUOTE(Clavicus @ Feb 18 2010, 10:41 PM) it's a link. The article's about coffee beans being a smell "resetter" la. The Starbucks trivia at the end oc the article is interesting. Should wear smth epic smelling and visit their outlet. Or something that makes you smell like a walking coffee bean. I get it now haha. Yeah I have known about coffee beans as a means to reset the sense of smell. Thierry Mugler Men Pure Coffee will come close to satisfying your coffee smelling needs. Regular A*Men smells more like chocolate cookies and milo. I'm thinking of trying Azzaro Chrome. Good reception both online and here, especially bout it's longevity. Haven't had the priviledge of testing YSL Rive Gauche yet, only Opium. Thought I was open to the idea of smth spicy and different. A whiff of Opium proved me wrong. Lol. Maybe I'll go hunting for both Rive Gauche and BB. One thing I've noticed when I talk perfume with my friends; Both guys i conversed with says that they use Hugo Boss. Bland taste much? Chrome is good but I gave it away because it smelled too common even in Malaysia. The only reason Azzaro still thrives here is solely because of Chrome even though Azzaro PH is a better frag IMHO. Did u accidentally try Opium for women (red bottle) ? The Opium Pour Homme is blue with gold coloured liquid. It's either Hugo, CK or Armani maybe Polo. These brands sell well because of their clothing brand that is more affordable compared to YSL, Hermes and Cartier. So more consumer can afford those brands and end up able to associate more with frags released under the same brand. Most of the time brands like CK and Hugo don't even design the frags and it "outsourced" to frag companies like Coty and Givaudan. Their marketing is very good too...how many times have u seen CK or Hugo launch their new frag in the main concourse of a shopping mall ? Countless times...almost every new frag gets the red carpet treatment. Compare this to Hermes and Cartier...I can't remember the last time Hermes had a launch of a new frag. But better for us that the average dude doesn't know how good Terre d'Hermes smells like..more chance for me to smell unique compared to the next guy wearing Davidoff Hot Water. Sorry for rambling...
