Repair crews initially set a deadline of Dec 31 to fix the three cables. But on Dec 25, the Sea-Me-We4 line was cut for a second time, hundreds of kilometres away from the original disruptions. This second fault complicated repair efforts and meant one repair ship had to sail to the site of the new cut, causing days of delay.

Who knows someone can see the future, but I guess it's nothing more than a mistake by the author of the news. smile.gif

It seems that the theory that Streamyx is rerouting to help corporate customers after the cable severance incident may have some truth. As a KDU student I remember that their WiFi used to suck. Now it's even faster than my home connection. I'm quite sure they use a corporate TM connection. vmad.gif vmad.gif

Things are not settled. Although better than when there was the cable cuts, it is not entirely back to normal. There are international sites having ping times of over 500ms which normally is approx 250ms. There is packet loss to some sites.

I have reported this to TM. We all need to co-operate on this. A supervisor in TM is now aware of this thread and hopefully it will be passed on to the technical department.

So please, Streamyx users still having slow connection, post some info. Maybe the IP you are connected to, the ping results to slow sites. Keep it simple and professional please. I have provided them 3 IPs in various parts of the US currently having over 500ms ping times. Please continue to provide more info.

Also, if you haven;t done so, please spare 10 mins or so and call 1-300 88 9515 and make a complaint and get a report number. The more of us complain, chances are better they will see there is an actual problem. You can also email help@tm.com.my and make a report.
