Petsmore 1utama is at Wang Utama rite? If it's there, then my house is near lolz  biggrin.gif

I prefer to buy WW but how much does the cage sell? ( 4 WW in one cage lol )  doh.gif
*
Erm...Petsmore 1Utama at Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya la.

Erm...not so advisible to put 4 WW in same cage...unless is from same family de...and only same sex...to avoid inbreeding.

So far I got like 6-7 cages...most like 2 WW in 1 cage only...and is mother and daughter de...

WWs are territorial de...usually they will fight...and 4 WWs in a normal cage is too small de...try get a 2ft tank if u intend to do so. Else get two 2ft tank even better tongue.gif

1) Are the parents from the same petstore/tank/cage when you bought them? If yes, they could have been siblings. Causing inbreeding and ending up with defected babies. Or was the female already pregnant when you bought her? Also i know its not good to breed 2 hamsters of the same color genes or something like that.. It has serious defects for some breeds of hamsters.

Anyway IMO, most likely the white one has mutated genes. 'Mottled' maybe?

*
Just wondering...Like yana-adell mentioned that she mate her campbells which are same dark brown strip de...

But, so far I breed pure white WW Pearl together...then end up got pure white, grey white, brown black pups... Why mating same colour genes hamster will got defects if both male and female do not have any family relationship?

I suppose so far from what I've learned is just do not inbreed the hamster. This means by do not breed hamsters with same genes. But breeding same color hamsters should be a good thing right?

2) i fed em a Prestige food.. How to get mealworms?? Is it the food that we give to fish??
I realize he didnt drink coz seems d bottle water level is same about 3 days edi.. So fed him a wet food like bread soaked with milk.
& he really LIKES IT.. tongue.gif
*
Erm...then cont feeding him bread with soak milk or water lo... can try give him uncle taro's smoothies also...

Else u can actually get those feeding injection tube at Petstore around...I saw some at Pet Lover Center Sunway Pyramid that day selling RM1 each. Then feed him water using tat injection tube...like what I did to feed my hamster multi vit or medicine sometimes when they are sick tongue.gif

eric, u mean is what?? I didnt understand lorh..
Can u explain??

He means that fresh food actually contains water inside...If your hamster do take in fresh food, he wont be too dehydrated de...

Another thing is try to check the water bottle see...may be it's stuck at the hole and water not coming out?

Wah .. Ur cages is like a HUGE zoo.. hahhaaha,, GREAT JOB fOr Hammsie Owner!!  rclxms.gif
Lala Very Fine now.. But looks like she likes to b alone, Without any outsider in her cage.. QUITE SOMBONG (said others..)

then how ur hams can get Brown Black pups if they are Pure White??
Maybe d parents PARENTS is not pure.. My mean they are from mixed family.. Could be mottled also..
*
Haha...good to hear that Lala is living well. Erm...may be u need to do some preparation work before u introduce her to other hamster.

Usually, it take me 1-2months to introduce a hamster to another. The usual way is get the hamster used to the other hamters scene 1st. By either placing their cage nearby or sometimes u can grab abit of the beddings from other cages and put into hers. Then after 2-3weeks, you can try to test them by putting both hamsters in a neutral place...which doesnt contain any familiar items or scene. If they are getting well along, just let them play together for another week...but separate them to sleep at different cage 1st. After a week of playing together, you can try to put them together in a cage...but please clean the cage, change the bedding and the setting of the accessories also. This is very important to want them know they are in a new place. After that, just need to observe them more for another 1-2 weeks to make sure everything is smooth...sometimes they do play fight, as long as no major fighting such as chasing each other for too long, rolling together like a ball, biting, bleeding etc...then it should be fine.

For breeding side, usually breeding WW pearl white male and WW pearl white female...it's normal to get pure white WW, grey white, grey black or brown black de...That's what I read from chinese forum de. The chinese forum actually got a list which stated all the types of possibilities pups for different breeding pairs. So I guess it should be normal for my pups.

Hope that helps. Cheers tongue.gif

Well...I would say good job to SugarCoatedCandy tongue.gif

I found that one of the website you provided is very good in teaching breeding. It includes all the necessary steps in details.

I found only this part related to the color of breeding hamster anyway. So I think breeding same color male and female should be alright. Correct me if I'm wrong biggrin.gif

Albino most probably is because one of the parents do have that kind of genes already and past down to the next generation. I think it works similar to human as in the genes. As long as not family related bloodlines, breeding should be fine.

Hehe... icon_rolleyes.gif

After A While I Notice Inside The Empty Cage With My Hamster Got Something Strange In It..

I Remembered It Was Empty When I Put All 4 In..
Does It Mean My Hammy Storing Food? Pregnant?
And How Thay Hide Wor?

They do have a pouch inside their mouth and usually they store alot foods inside de...When they get panic or stress up, they will throw the foods out so that they can escape easier de with less weight...

Hello...just brought my hamster to Hand N Paw to do check up with Dr. Jenny.

Because I got 1 hamster actually develop pneumonia for quite sometime already. Doctor suggested that my WW's lung got bad damage and wont fully recover de... just give him more supplement and anti-oxidant food to boost his immune system up as he's under antibiotic medication for 1month de. Any suggested anti-oxidant food can recommend to me? preferably fresh food related de...

Dr. Jenny also suggested me to give my WW dog biscuit 2-3pieces every week as supplement. She mentioned that my hamster need more vitamin C and E now...which dog food contains most of it. Any recommended dog biscuit brand which is better? preferably dog biscuit for small breed dog de...

Hope someone can help me on dog products as I have not much experience and knowledge on dogs. @@

One more thing just out of curiosity...Dr Jenny told me that mealworm is basically just additional treat to the hamsters which contain mostly only fat. She suggested that if feeding mealworm, one might consider feeding the mealworm with nutrient food around half an hour before feeding the mealworm to the hamster. This is because those nutrient which contain inside the mealworm will be absorbed by the hamster as well.

Cheers.

His name is Siao Bai.

Erm...Pneumonia caused by bacteria lo...like it started from flu and later on develop more serious. I read up some article on pneumonia for hamster and the caused can be alot of things...just like human, fever can caused by alot things... but some articles do mentioned that pneumonia is one of the famous sickness for hamster, because hamster is so small and very easily attack by the flu.

Added on June 19, 2009, 8:52 pmActually...Siao Bai looks normal de...he's kinda recovered de...but just that his body system is weak de after lotsa medication and lung function wont fully recover de. This is because some parts of lung function has been destroyed and left only a scar at the lung...which doctor cant tell how badly is his lung affected also.

But, I do hope to give him more supplements to boost his immune system up and stronger. It's very important to prevent him from 2nd flu attack. His body immune system is so weak now already...he need lotsa care from now on o.O

@.@

I always got my dog kibbles from Pet Shack, different brands to try out, the boss will always recommend me the good ones. Maybe you can try ask from there?

About the mealworms and feeding thingy, its call gut loading. We always buy mealworms and feed the mealworms with fresh veges 2 days before we wanna feed to hammies. Let them eat good food and pass out the bad waste from their body first before feeding to hammies. You can try to feed white tofu for protein as well. Hope it's help.
