hahaha...last time i also so so so afraid of mealies... hav to use twizzer to pick it up and feed...Now jus grab with hands, coz all my pets nid to eat mealies everyday... If i use twizzer, dono nid to feed for how many hours..haha..

For fulfilling nutrients that gain from insects, i think Bugsy Small Carnivore Food is a good choice. Kinda complete with different types of insects on different stages.. Better than dog cat food.. Can give it a try~~ I feed my hammie too..
*
I think most girls wont dare to touch it. tongue.gif
Mealworms is easy to grab, but superworms like to twitch alot.
Since u recommend dat, will giv it a try for my future hammie. biggrin.gif

cat kibbles's protein too high for hamster...even dog cant take the amt of protein a cat need. i will suggest tat pick the cheapest brand dog food...the protein is more thn enough for hamster

I don breed mealies la..so troublesome...jus buy and gut load then feed~ 5bucks can last few weeks~~
*
Wow...ur hammies sure like them alot.Mine last few months 1. laugh.gif

QUOTE(Reanne @ Jun 17 2009, 02:52 AM)
Mealworms and crickets are good sources of protein but it's not necessary if you really can't bear with feeding insects. Hard-boiled egg white, plain soft tofu, boiled chicken and bone are all good substitutes. You can also play around with their treats to make things interesting. You can chop some carrot, tofu and egg white into half inch cubes then coat them with wheatgerm before serving. My gerbils like these, but I used to serve these to my hams last time. Sprouts are very nutritious.

Hey Guys..
As I Know Pine Bedding Are Bad For My WW..
So Yesterday I Go To 'Chi Cheong Gai' Petmore Shop See See I Bought A Big (Some Sort Like A Sand Of Hard Wood) For My Hammy..
Wasted 50 Bucks And Its Worth For My Little Cutie^^

Q&A:
Does The Sand Of Hard Wood Bad For Them Too?

They Act Like Dog Digging Does It Normal?

I Bath Them Like The Pet Shop Worker Told Me..
Warm Water (Not Really Hot La..)
Slowly Wipe Their Body (Not On Ear/Head/Eye)
Then Use Towel Slowly (They Keep Kicking Out From My Finger Hug)
Finally Use Hair Dryer Speed Of 1 And Hot On 1
Does It Right?
*
Can post pic of the bedding?
Try not bathe ur hammie unless there r unremoveable stain or paint. This is bcos we dun actually knw the most suitable temp for our hammie.
I recommend use Breeder Celect as bedding. As for ur bedding i hav no idea.
Try read 1st page for more info of taking care ur hammie. smile.gif

Pic not so clear but looks like a WW to me.The tank is ok but i suggest change the bedding.I dun think sand-type bedding is good for hamster as it can enter its eye and ear.
Man...that can be a good scorpion tank... tongue.gif

Hello...just brought my hamster to Hand N Paw to do check up with Dr. Jenny.

Because I got 1 hamster actually develop pneumonia for quite sometime already. Doctor suggested that my WW's lung got bad damage and wont fully recover de... just give him more supplement and anti-oxidant food to boost his immune system up as he's under antibiotic medication for 1month de. Any suggested anti-oxidant food can recommend to me? preferably fresh food related de...

Dr. Jenny also suggested me to give my WW dog biscuit 2-3pieces every week as supplement. She mentioned that my hamster need more vitamin C and E now...which dog food contains most of it. Any recommended dog biscuit brand which is better? preferably dog biscuit for small breed dog de...

Hope someone can help me on dog products as I have not much experience and knowledge on dogs. @@

One more thing just out of curiosity...Dr Jenny told me that mealworm is basically just additional treat to the hamsters which contain mostly only fat. She suggested that if feeding mealworm, one might consider feeding the mealworm with nutrient food around half an hour before feeding the mealworm to the hamster. This is because those nutrient which contain inside the mealworm will be absorbed by the hamster as well.

Cheers.

Well she still moves but at a slower pace..and her whiskers remind me of spider sense..Tingling..Is she still having trauma or something like that..?  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
I think she is bcoming more cautious now since the dog traumatise her.
As for the whiskers:
QUOTE
Whiskers
A hamster's sensory whiskers helps it to navigate around its surroundings and detect objects around its environment. Whiskers, or vibrissae, are found not only on the face but also on the sides of the body. A hamster's whiskers helps the nocturnal animal to move and feel around its surroundings with ease in the nighttime.

BTW...how bad did the dog "play" her cage? hmm.gif
