60 pounds ~ estimate RM300
Studying CAT right now at SunwayU, I think you still can enjoy college/uni life if you study here, so many facilities, so many fun things to do.

QUOTE(Grimm @ Jan 30 2009, 03:21 PM) I'm in the accounting line. I organised several talks, conferences and even a Career Day and Accounting Week at Monash University Malaysia. I was part of the Monash University Accounting club committee. Hi,Personally I'd recommend: 01. Monash University (duh 02. UTAR 03. Sunway University College 04. Metropolitan College 05. Taylors University College 01. Monash is reknown for its business courses, even in Australia. UniMelb may be ranked higher, but in the business line, Monash has a better rating, somehow. Perhaps its because the courses are tougher. UniMelb surpasses Monash in many many other aspects though, but not in commerce studies/accountancy in your case. 02. UTAR and SYUC are the only TWO private colleges in Malaysia to be awarded the platinum status by ACCA if i recall correctly. I know, because I spoke to the speaker myself. Any graduate from accounting courses here, will be grabbed by ACCA. Not bad, if you feel like being headhunted Anyway, UTAR has always been famous for its accounting courses while SYUC, for its CAT --> ACCA programme. 04. Metropolitan is one of the only colleges to focus on offering business courses only. They also have a very good twinning partner, RMIT, but the partnership may have been discontinued. 05. Taylors Business School. Used to have a great reputation, due to a good twinning partner, University of Technology Sydney. Now they twin with UniSA, but doing it locally is prestegious enough IMHO What about Help Uni ? |

QUOTE(jlyx @ Dec 30 2012, 09:42 PM) The statement is biased, I heard that you can get a job as long as you have met the entry requirement - degree or acca.Location is not critical, but of course the colleges would make you belief that. On the other hand - go for price and convenience as a consideration. |

QUOTE(Whatshouldido @ May 18 2014, 02:15 PM) To be an MIA member, you have three pathways to choose from:1. Get an MIA recognized degree and work for three years in the relevant area. 2. Get ACCA/CPA/MICPA/ICAEW/etc membership and then you can apply for MIA membership 3. Sit for the MIA Qualifying Exam and work for three years in the relevant area. If the degree is not recognized by MIA, you can choose Option 2 or 3. |

I am in dilemma whether to take degree or acca.
Some people say taking ACCA limit yourself to prof/accountancy in your future. Some say take degree first, later on work for awhile see whether you really need ACCA or not. I am not scared of the difficulties, but the subject content!! If I were to take ACCA, I save time and money, but I might lose more if later on I found out that I don't want to be so specialized/professional. A degree is safer, but it cost me about 50k more than ACCA and the time... I am scared that I will limit myself in accountancy if I were to take ACCA and I might missed out finance knowledge compared to degree (Ac&fin degree stud). At the same time I am worried about my age(time) and cost to complete my degree... I am 22 and I got no diploma, cat or any foundation. Currently working as sales executive. I am willing to put down my job and give them my full attention. This post has been edited by BlurGuy1992: May 18 2014, 10:43 PM |
