QUOTE(SnowLeopard @ Dec 27 2008, 03:16 AM) I sought before buying, but the byer who talk usim inactive, he said that even an inactive usim could unlock the camera and music, but it is false, and in the forum when we try to have greater clarity, it was always the same answers, "send us your phone," I'm not millionaire me Here is my understanding how it works for the media unlocking (at least until 920SH):tell me not to me personally but for everyone. they say they need an active USIM, but it is only Japan that it can work, right ? They are not in Japan then there's something to ask questions Items required: Active Softbank USIM, Media unlock bypass SIM 1) Activate Softbank USIM can only be obtained by registering a new phone line with Softbank Japan which requires you to have load of documents when you register. An important thing is that you need an alien card or a Japanese ID card and along with some utilities bill which proves your residential address it true and correct. This is difficult part to obtain the Softbank USIM. Unless you have a very close friend that willing to register a line for you under his/her name (which if you are using it for committing criminal crime, he/she will be the one who will suspect). Besides, need to activate roaming service if you're out of Japan. 2) The working of media unlock in 920SH will be first insert the Softbank USIM and media unlock card together into 920SH. Then when phone ask to do a repro, choose yes. The re-pro will success as it is a valid Softbank USIM and it connects back to Softbank server to do the re-pro by checking is the number in use is a valid Softbank user. In 920SH case, it extract the number from the My Contact Details part (you will see your my contact card number is a Softbank number which preprogrammed in the media unlock card. The main working point for media unlocking) 3) Switch your own SIM card with the Softbank USIM and now your 920SH will have media unlocked. This is because that although you switched the SIM card, but the My Contact Details phone number part still the same (this was because preprogrammed in media unlock card), so the phone thought there is no change in the SIM card. 923SH method is a little different as the previous 920SH method doesn't work for media unlock and I believe the solution would be changing your SIM card underlying contact card number to the Softbank one (this one is my guess). QUOTE(awong @ Dec 27 2008, 04:43 AM) the sim card roams, its hard to get a japanese sim card that is active, you can repro a phone with an active sim if you are roaming. Its not cheap and not easy to get an active japanese sim card. Only those who can want to offer unlock service can get the active sim card. 904SH/705SH does not have media lock yet and an inactive USIM could actually play around with the functions.I said it before, the sim card roams and its possible to use overseas, which you can use to repro. and unlock, plain and simple. Lie on the customs form them, should have waited for wx-t923 or 920sh media unlock. 923sh you are just asking for trouble, and you were dumb enough to believe the seller. almost every site I've read talked about the 923sh methods for unlocking and why it requires the sim. Its been known since post 904sh/705sh that a cancelled sim will NOT work. QUOTE(xMika @ Dec 27 2008, 09:27 AM) Totally agreed. Do some research before buying & ask the seller bout the phone specs. Ask vodafone how many times I had pm-ed him & asking him questions bout the 706P. True.Added on December 27, 2008, 9:37 amWait ~~ Got questions to ask again. All stock j-phones that are imported from japan comes with Japan FW right ? Depends on your seller source. The ultimately main source of course from Japan. |

QUOTE(awong @ Dec 27 2008, 04:18 AM) yeah I can change sim cards on the 920sh. I just keep old sim card inside in case it does come on, I wont relock up. It was 90usd, the hypersim media unlock is about half the price. But I also ended up spending more than 2 months b/c for some reason my friend couldnt get the it unlocked using hypersim method. He was sent the wrong hypersim by the supplier in china. 90USD but quite worth, considering the whole process involved. and it is nice to make it internal too QUOTE(tiffneedle @ Dec 27 2008, 07:57 AM) dont be so harsh with him la...pity him that con by seller and get a phone can call in&out only, no even able to shows to his friend. understand his fustration please i think snowLeopard is having a problem to fully understand in English (or is he/she using translator to read our posts as well?)QUOTE(vodafone @ Dec 27 2008, 09:50 AM) Here is my understanding how it works for the media unlocking (at least until 920SH): nice info! will update it on the first page. cool, once a week is bearable i suppose.
what do you guys mean gsm signal? aint all signals are gsm? or u meant differ from 3g signal? i'm into the slides woot. oh and like the cpr occurs only when your signal drops out and unable to regain right? not like out of the blue thing. QUOTE(williamwong @ Dec 27 2008, 04:46 PM) cool, once a week is bearable i suppose. most likely you will get GPRS signal(known as 2.5G if i am not mistaken) if you are using GPRS or 3G phones, eg k810i, N73 etc.what do you guys mean gsm signal? aint all signals are gsm? or u meant differ from 3g signal? i'm into the slides woot. oh and like the cpr occurs only when your signal drops out and unable to regain right? not like out of the blue thing. chances to get GSM signal(known as 2G) is higher if you do CPR using GSM phones, like Nokia 3310, 8250 etc. CPR when the signal bar there shows "圈外". if "UIM not recognized" or signal bar there shows "TML", you just reboot the phone, then you are good to go. |

okay you lost me there a little.
from my reading of this thread i thought CPR = when signal bar = "圈外" = put the sim card into another phone and manually search for signal, then insert back into docomo? not just plain rebooting right? i get the gsm part now thanks. gsm = 2g , gprs = 2.5g , 3g = 3g , 3.5g = fake wm device stuff lolololol. woot i have a 6510 here i suppose its gsm. otoh, i doubt 3g video calls will work given that its running gsm signal? |

CPR occured quite often as well due to 3G coverage here is not as good as other developed countries. |
