Just sharing my recent experience:
I have a debt of 42k cc from aeon. My cc actually only have 5k limit. Long story short, the card went overlimit due to aeon system problem but they didnt want to admit it, and instead keep calling and emailing me to pay in lump sum. I went over to their branch and initially one of their staff said its ok if i pay 5% every month. More or less 2k plus per month. I calculated everything and it seems i can afford to pay that much per month to clear it. Hutang mesti dibayar. Thats all i thought abt.
And to cut it shorter, i paid 2k plus for nov. But still the staff keep calling and asks to pay in lump sum. i was getting frustrated when they said they didnt have my record going to their branch and asks abt the 5% payment from total every month.
I even received emails and sms they threatened to visit me at home if i didnt pay lump sum.
Finally i cannot take it anymore,i apply for akpk online, even went to their kl branch eventho im from sarawak. Bcuz their slots are fully booked and some city only have certain days or certain week have appoinment. So i bought my plane ticket after book a date and ysterday i finally went to meet their officer.
It was hella smooth and the staff at their kl branch is so polite and helpful. The whole process didnt even take that long. Less than 30 mins.
They take a look at ur criss report and asks which one u want to put under dmp and he help to calculate to max it till 10 years. There are 2 tierings for the installment, same amount every month for 10 years. Or less amount on 1st n 2nd year then gradually the installment will get higher as u approach ur 10 years until u finish paying all. I took the 1st tiering, which i need to pay rm530 per month for 10 years. The interest is 7%. Maybe its a bit high, but still better than 18% from aeon.
Im working overseas so i didnt have kwsp for my recent years. But as long as ur ic is malaysian,it is ok.
For my case, they only asks for:
1) 3 months payslip copies( mine is overseas company but they still accept it)
2) photostat ic
3) kswp statement (i still have my kwsp from when i used to work in malaysia)
4)criss report (can print it at their branch. I bought the ctos online, but they said cannot use it,so i just print the criss there)
5) credit card statement (i didnt bring mine. Bcuz when i called aeon to emailed it to me, they asked me for my latest home and company address so i just hang up. I informed this to my counsellor and he is ok with it. cuz all he needs is the criss report to see my debt balance.
and just a few hours ago i received email from akpk that i succesfully enrolled in dmp. I only need to make my 1st month payment 2 days later but no later than 5 or 7 days.
So yeah, its no fun being in debt. But sometimes its a lesson that we need to learn. Its an expensive lesson. so for all those who thinks there is no way out, just reach out to akpk. thinking of going or not going is going to waste ur time more. So just go and seek advice from their officers. There is still hope to turn our lives around :-)
I kid u not. I was smiling ear to ear when i walk out of their branch. It feels like the whole world seems brighter again.
Its a lesson for me. Even after i cleared all my credit card debt,im never going to apply for credit card anymore. It will only be debit card or cash from now on.
AKPK, debt issue, anyone got a question to ask them?
