How does AKPK work/>

I have outstanding loan on a shop house for x amount. I have an offer from buyer to buy over the property for Y amount (RM150k lower than balance of debt owed to the bank).

I cannot afford to pay the loan anymore as business teruk. Decide to close business as 6 months already cannot operate due to emco/mco.

Can AKPK negotiate between both parties (me) and bank to find a settlement?

AKPK can only assist to negotiate on unsecured loans (CC, PL), any secured loan (Property, Hire Purchase) they will not assist

Thank you

Aik. How did UOB know you went to AKPK?

Pretty sure AKPK does not share info with them unless you join the program, no?

I asked AKPK before about this matter. AKPK cannot extend the moratorium, but AKPK can help to reschedule your monthly payment to lower sum due to the MCO Covid-19. They did it for me, actually it is even better, because they reschedule lower sum for me for more than 6 months.

You may try call them to help you.

No point calling bank, bank will not help you, especially us.
*
Agree. I already tried talking to my bank...waste of time. They are not interested. Bank Negara and Banks say in media/public come to talk to us but in reality, totally different story when customer go and visit.

They only want to help company with ++ profits. If you are losing money, very hard. For individual, I think maybank and cimb and ambank are helpful.

Meaning even i terminate AKPK, i still cant make loan? Need to settle all the debt first?

Your credit score will deternine if you can loan or not. It usually takes at least 1 year ++ of paying existing loans ON TIME without even 1 late payment for credit score to "get back up" to a decent score.

You need to subscribe to CTOS to hiew your credit rating.

Yes! CTOS can view your credit rating. CTOS can also view that if you are eligible to apply loan / hire purchase / morgage etc. When you press "reward" it will show whether you can apply or not...

Hi guys, I'm new here. I've been enrolled in AKPK DMP since 2014 with around 200k credit card outstanding balance from 7 different banks.
Today, I have circa 104k balance to settle and I plan to fully settle them now.

Like many of you have mentioned in previous posts, the best way of settlement is to call up individual banks and negotiate a discount/waiver/deal.

So far I've managed to convince 2 banks - HSBC and UOB to offer some discounts for full settlement and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. The other 5 banks are either not picking up my calls or they are not offering any discounts.
I'll post all the details I have gathered, including the collection department contacts of all the banks. Hopefully, this information can help someone in the same boat as me. If you know a better way of getting a discount, please drop me a message or reply to my thread.

So here goes:

Cimb Bank
Collection Department number: 03-20352437 / 03-20288654
- Offered a settlement proposal of around 8% discount. I decided not to settle yet because I'm not satisfied with the offer.

Standard Chartered
Collection Department number: 03-79467888
- They don't offer any discount unless it's in special recovery where I fail to pay AKPK for three months.

United Overseas Bank (UOB)
Collection Department number: 03-27832047
- Settled with 30% discount. An officer named Faly was very helpful in the process of proposal and settlement.

Hong Leong Bank
Collection Department number: 03-79591888 - press 1 then 4
- I've been trying to call them for days, was put on hold forever... still unable to speak to anyone.

Maybank
Collection Department number: 03-20708833 ext 6856 / 6843
- They don't offer discounts on the phone but advised me to email akpk@maybank.com.my for settlement discount, which I did and haven't got a reply from them. It's been a week now.

RHB
Collection Department number: 0326106407 / 0326106406
- No discount available =(

HSBC
Collection Department number: 03-20757859
- My account was already under a special unsecured loan which doesn't charge interest nor fees, so it's a no brainer to settle this one.
I hope this information can help someone out there. If you know a better way of getting discounts from the banks, please reach out to me =)

Cheers.

I don't understand the banks. Instead of giving a 10-20% discount and settling the debt, they rather say "no discount" or "email AKPK" and drag the matter. Some of these managers incharge of collections dept should be sacked. If the board of directors for these banks found out what they are doing, quite sure they will call for heads to roll.

Oh wow I totally didn’t expect so many responses from agreeing on someone’s post. Sorry if I’ve offended you or anyone else in this channel. I’ve clearly touched some nerve endings with my actions without giving it much thought at that time. Having a second look now does make me feel wrong for agreeing with the other gentlemen’s post. No heads shall roll!

My initial post was intended to to help people like me to try and get some waiver or discounts from the banks. I had no intentions of bad mouthing the banks for not giving me the discounts. I take full responsibility of my debts and all I could ask from them is to waive off some of the interest that they’ve charged me over the years or if I’m in luck, offer a little bit more discounts.

Having said that, i hope we can stop the argument or sarcasm that’s been going on here.. let’s just focus on clearing our debts and help each other out yea?

Have to ignore some of the comments here. Don't take it personally.

Some people here act like modern day ah longs.

And herein comes my point. So many people in this thread feels like it’s their right to get discount from the banks after screwing them over of their agreed payments for so many years. Already a beggar yet feel so entitled. Even dare to say heads will roll if the BOD found out their finance managers rejected a discount offer from a bad customer. Come on. Who do you think you are man? You are just a delinquent customer. You think you are the bank’s top customer?
*
Hang on. You seem to forget banks also take a risk offering loans. Nobody forced them to give anyone a loan but they did.

You are not out of work or suffering a 80%-90% drop in business. Look at the current situation in context.

I have been reading a bit and wanting to apply for AKPK. Few questions to ask:

1) When I'm filling out at their website, will the action taken immediate i.e AKPK to take over account control with the bank and slash off my credit card?

2) If not, will there be an officer to contact me first to clarify and confirm on execution?

3) My loans profile are as follows:
Personal loan : 280k
Mortgage : 553k
Credit card : 12k

Will there restructure the whole type of loan or only personal loan and credit card?

Thank you guys for the guidance
*
1) Are you able to cope paying monthly commitment or no?

2) If no, and you are burning your savings and/or you are worried about your finances in the future, then go for AKPK.

Lower the monthly commitments ASAP.

But, there is a price to pay: you will be restricted when it comes to applying for further loans, etc etc and you may lose your ability to use the credit card so make sure you have debit card for card transactions.
