3. What if monitor only got HDMI, how to connect graphic card VGA to monitor HDMI? Does this one-time cable available?
Thanks in advance !
*
there are various adapters available, usually come with ur graphic card. if not, u can try to buy in garage sales... however, the common adapters i've seen so far is dvi-to-vga, and hdmi-to-dvi. never seen hdmi-to-vga adapter... sweat.gif but most graphic cards today have dvi or hdmi output, so u dont have to worry too much... what is ur graphic card anyway?

Erm, Palit GTX275 thumbup.gif
*
ohh.. palit gtx275's output is like this is it?
user posted image
unless it's the new version with hdmi, vga, and dvi output, which means u wont have any problem in the first place tongue.gif

and ur AOC 2434PW input is like this right?
user posted image

so u'll need a dvi-to-vga adapter (if u only have vga cable) or a dvi-to-hdmi adapter (if u have hdmi cable).
people are selling the adapters in garage sales from as low as rm5 to the high quality ones around rm30-40... or u can buy a HDMI-DVI cable, but pretty expensive la... about rm100+...

sure can..
they just like the same..some driver u download the windows7 driver, but the filename of the driver stated "vista and 7"...like that la.

but.. 7 can detect the driver for all of my hardwares automatically... using rc 7100..
so i once i install, all driver is there...even printer..just GC driver i change since dont want to use the windows-made one..

@jason18689,
yup, that's exactly how hdmi cable looks like. u can see on the pic that "hdmi" is embossed on the plugs. biggrin.gif
so if u have the hdmi cable, and ur gc output n lcd input looks like the above, then the solution would be>> LCD----HDMI CABLE----DVI-to-HDMI-adapter----GRAPHIC CARD. the dvi-hdmi adapter should be included with ur graphic card during purchase. try lookin for it in the box.

2. Whats the difference between using an ATI card on an nvidia chipset than using nvidia cards on nvidia chipset itself? Are there any disadvantages or advantages in doing this?
*
Nvidia cards on Nvidia chipset may provide Hybrid SLI depending on the chipset... It consists of 2 main features, which includes GeForce Boost and HybridPower. ATI gc on Nvidia chipset will disable these features.
1. GeForce Boost enhances the performance of ur gc by combining the power of the built in gpu and ur graphic card, but it only supports the older cards (8xxx series cards).
2. HybridPower on the other hand, focuses on lowering the power consumption to cut down ur TNB bills. It switches to the built in gpu when u're doing stuffs like watching prawns, or it switches to the graphic card when u're playing crysis. tongue.gif the 9xxx series up to gtx280 supports hybridpower. (ATI also have similar stuff, but only for notebooks with ATI gpu. not desktops)

Despite not being able to activate the above features, ur hd4670 will work just fine no matter what kind of chipset u have. dont even bother to get a mobo with ati chipset, cos hybrid crossfire only supports the old HD2xxx and HD3xxx card series. and dont worry about power consumption too since it's the hd4670. just be sure not to install the nforce driver provided with the mobo. just install the ati catalyst driver which is included with ur gc (better download the latest from the net) biggrin.gif

hey guys, just wondering, can i stack 2 fans together? cos my stock AMD heatsink has 70mm fan, and i wanna replace with 80mm fan, but it wont fit. so can i just put double-sided tape and place the 80mm fan on the stock 70mm fan? will it increase or decrease the airflow?

*i dont mind to spend a lot of my money as long as i can get a reaaaaally good psu for my system..thats my budget..
*
if u say like that, people will recommend those 1000W monster PSUs... some of which will cost more than ur whole pc... sweat.gif hmm, anyway, i'd suggest vantec ion2 400W (RM100) or silverstone ST400 (RM170). more than enough for ur rig, and u wont be having probs with minor upgrades in the future smile.gif

how about me??danny

2 different GC...

include Capacitor Aging...this getting me nervous

honestly, i dunno much about those capacitor aging and stuff, but i'd say 550W true power should be enough for ur rig. get the silverstone st56f, should be enough. how much is ur budget anyway?

question:

psu, better to get xigmatek brand is it?

casing, better to get cooler master brand is it?
*
no lah... people usually recommend those brands becos they have lots of choices within consumers' budget.. there are better brands for psu and casing, but it's just that sometimes they are considered expensive to the general public... if someone asks me "i have a budget of RM1000 for a casing, what casing would u recommend?" then there tons of other choices besides cooler master. same goes for the psu. anyway, psu and casing is pretty important for gaming, although they're not the top priority... ur psu must be able to support the gc u're using. and the casing should have good airflow to cool down the system. just tell us the budget and the other forummers would be happy to help u smile.gif

want to ask pro here. notworthy.gif

which way is good to pasang CPU cooler?upward or backward? rclxub.gif

this is for TRUE 120 on XFX780i..

thanks a lot notworthy.gif
*
depends on ur casing. if ur casing has top exhaust, better facing upward, with the heatsink fan sucking air from bottom and blowing to the top. cos hot air moves upwards. but if ur casing doesnt have top exhaust, then facing backward... smile.gif

Eh? I thought PSUs are supposed to take cool air in from the bottom of the case and exhaust it immediately out the back? I can't seeing any PSUs with a top vent before. It's always on the side.

Which means you will install fan side down with the exhaust vent towards the provided slot in your case as per the picture below. Though note that the case in question has a PSU mount on top instead.

Eh? i thought we're talking about cpu coolers a.k.a. heatsinks?

yea, the same method to go safemode.
you go buy s-video to s-video
or s-video to single RCA (yellow)

not given from the picture
*
hey, i think i have the s-video to single RCA (yellow). If chaics85 use the item, then can connect to the yellow RCA, so the CRT will have display, but no sound output right?
