QUOTE(.:Toaster:. @ Jun 27 2009, 09:54 PM) yes i would wait for windows 7 =D ok 1 more question pls in ur very honest opinion which laptop brand is the best now everyone understand that when buying laptop, we look for what inside it, not the brand but i just want to know which brand is the best =) The best? I personally have never tested most of the branded laptops other than Dell. But of course la, I definitely have some friends who are using different brands and I can get to use those too. For now, most of the manufacturers you know are quite competitive so it's quite difficult to REALLY say who is the best. But since you asked me, I would say HP stands out the most because of its stylish design while offering good prices. Quite difficult la..

I think he meant a rig that can serve him well for several years, not reliability.

Lol, your LAN port might be kaput already. Was there a lightning strike happened and your LAN port became like this? I experienced similar thing like this before where my LAN port LED was on and not functioning, though I can't 100% be sure about your case.

Yes, provided the LAN cable is attached to the modem and connected to the phone line.

Most of the notebooks today which I believe, do have this feature where the battery is fully charged and it will stop charging and continue to provide power to run the laptop.

There are two ways, 1 you can subscribe to VPN, 2 you can register your own wireless internet connection.

How long have you been using it? Because my battery starts to show wear although I didn't really use it and called up Dell and they quoted me the price for that 9-cell is about RM 400+
Then I went to LYP, asked for the price of the third part battery and it's RM 250 but they do not sell original parts. Maybe Dell doesn't allow it.

QUOTE(dlwl @ Aug 1 2009, 01:24 PM) my hard disk has started making some clicking sounds after some time of usage, and it causes the whole system to hang. possible sign of my hard disk dying? or is it just not getting enough power? Most of the HDD now has an average lifespan of 3 years, after that it will start showing some signs of deteriorating including the click sounds you heard.

Just to add another info, I recall reading somewhere that 5ms or 10ms of response time won't be noticeable to human eye. Anything less than 10ms makes no different to us. Not sure it is true, but sounds sensible right?

Well, apparently this LCD monitor I'm currently using is my FIRST LCD close to 5 years. And has a response time of 15ms so it was quite some time only did I realise it didn't make any difference at all. This post has been edited by BlueWind: Aug 2 2009, 04:26 PM

If you have 64-bit OS then you can use up to more or less 32GB of RAM I think.. but one thing for sure is as long as you have 64-bit OS you can have more than 4GB RAM.

You are actually looking for a vacuum that has DC output. Those with AC output will definitely generate electrostatic which will harm your components. Most of the DC vacuums are battery powered.

QUOTE(Xiia0Ban @ Oct 18 2009, 10:02 PM) can i know what the different of the 2 slot??will affect the speaker sound? It's just a surround sound system audio port. Normally you would plug in the green one if you're using 2.1 speakers and it won't affect the sound one la.

When you say you using laptop, and it's black in colour, I suppose the colour itself is matching with the black coloured case.
Laptops don't normally go by colour and as far as I know, it only has one audio input(mic) and output(speakers). What speaker are you using anyway lol
