hey mike. haven't seen you in awhile  icon_rolleyes.gif
What's the difference between the 3M and VKool? Well..at least for appearance wise? Color, Tint-color
*
Yeah been busy. tongue.gif
V-Kool seems to give a much greener color on the window while 3M gives slight grey a bit of the shinning effect. I think it suits the PMM and Black City well.

QUOTE(vez @ Dec 27 2008, 04:07 PM)
may i know how much it will cost? RM1.5k?
i am from Penang, no idea where can get good quality tint biggrin.gif
*
Around 1.5k to 2k, depending on your nego skill. tongue.gif

QUOTE(sharinganez @ Dec 27 2008, 08:32 PM)
can post the pic here?
cz im pg ppl..how to go damansara le?  blink.gif

btw.. my SA oso offer me ECOTINT wif 200 cash voucher
any1 familiar wif ECOTINT?
*
Sorry no pics on the City + 3M tint.
Regarding ECOTINT, yes I agree it is the better tints out there. Fighting in the market together with V-Kool, 3M and Illumar. For ECOTINT, try to go for Raybarrier. The Infrared Rejected (IR) rate is better than V-Kool.

Please, no matter what kind of tint you guys choose, just don't include V-Kool in your consideration list.

Something like that, and the quality is not that good. I can take a few samples of defected V-Kool photo if you want.
*
So far, I heard from user reviews are alright. Everyone seems like to compare V-Kool with other tints.

QUOTE(vez @ Dec 28 2008, 02:51 AM)
but i have no idea where to get those tint film from Penang... anyone know any shop at Penang trusted? i m scare that cheated by them
*
Try calling their head office and ask for any Penang dealers, maybe that could help:

hello everyone, need help! getting car soon....need advice on tinting....going for quality and practicality....some say go with v-kool you can never go wrong...but some say v-kool will cause problem for smart tag as it is metallic base......and my brain which is organic base is going nuts now trying to figure out the best option....cost is secondary, quality is the first critirial for me....master sensei, any advice for me?

by the way...just heard from SA the bank rate now is 2.88%....

back to tinting now....master sensei, please show me the way....arigato.
*
Worry about unable to go through smart tag? Get Ecotint Ray Barrier. Lots of good reviews on it.

some more my father in law is telling me his neigbour friend daugther is working in a tinting shop and can give me RM800/car deal ( donno what tint) , say can guarantee good, guarantee JPJ no problem, guarantee satisfy one, and say those outside abave RM1000 all tipu one, look like very excited to help me save money but make me woner if really there is such big frog jumping around..if you got what i mean....but seriously my friend, anyone got any idea what kind of cost we are looking at to get a good, i mean good tinting job done.
*
Actually it all boils down to the skills and experience of person who doing the job. If you are really worried, go for higher range tints and do it at the HQ itself.

For me i'll take brake/pedal locks as it's "not so convenience" to break/unlock it by thief. Just my 2cent.  tongue.gif

QUOTE(yaliqiu @ Jan 2 2009, 10:54 PM)
around how much for the lock?  cool.gif
any other recommendation?
*
QUOTE(sysh @ Jan 2 2009, 11:08 PM)
Well..I'll find those Steering and Pedal lock too. But to me, most importantly the "fit" of the lock must be good and won't damage the poor steering wheel.
*
If that way, I think both combination of lock is the best. Steering lock I guess "StopLock" is recommended and break lock should be "Locktech".

HI guys.

do you all know what is the total weight of this car ?

E-Spec = 1,140kg
S-Spec = 1,160kg
Additional 20 kg from where!?

QUOTE(elru @ Jan 4 2009, 11:26 AM)
ooo this is the micro antenna type, thanks mike. last time i heard if the car is too heavily tint, it couldnt work properly same like GPS. so far 3 my friends' bee sting antennas kena stolen all in different places. not sure whether the new city's antenna can be stolen or not.
*
I think bee sting antennas are easily to be removed, just like those on Myvi. My friend once lost his antenna, pissed off he went and steal others. sweat.gif laugh.gif

Here are some feedbacks regarding the 3M tint:

Pros:
- Blue in color which is good for dark colored cars. Matches very well.
- Car is not that HOT already.

Cons:
- For those who has smart tag, have to really slow down your car to go through it. Almost stationary so that it can scan.

For the cons, even my V-Kool is facing the same problem. To counter this problem, easy... Just wind down your window and hold your Smart Tag. That'll solve everything.
*
I have seen a couple of cars doing the same thing. However I think it is pretty dangerous waving your hands while moving. Worried the smart tag falls off your hands.

That will defeat purpose of getting a smart tag right?
Get a Touch n Go will do lo..  tongue.gif

Anyways, general rules, just look for tint that are ceramic based. Most of it OK.
VKool is metal based, thats why.
Mine using Raytech so far no problem at all using Smart tag and Garmin. icon_idea.gif

My Garmin somemore can put near gearbox area. Still get sufficient signal..  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
True also. A little regret now should have got Ecotint instead but no choice, have to really slow down at Smart Tag lane. smile.gif
