QUOTE(tashfinsheikh @ Aug 12 2011, 12:22 AM) When buying iPhone (Used) one firstly u should know whether its a local set or its an oversea set..check it thru its phone model under the settings>general>about>model..local set should be like this MC***MY..after check out its ios version..if it still under warranty check thr warranty status thru apple website..take a look on the 1st page for more details on the thing that u should look on befpre buying the used unit.. what should you look for ? how can you know it is a good mobile ? like firmware, modem firmware etc |

QUOTE(tashfinsheikh @ Aug 12 2011, 07:08 AM) Malaysian set or overseas set any difference ? yes, oversea set normally is a locked set...it depends on which country it is from....if its a local its an official unlock which means it can read all telco sim card...if its a locked set it can only read certain sim card which it is locked to...after warranty expired ? As am going to buy 3Gs so the more I know the better about the warranty, if it still under local warranty u can claim for replacement unit mate...if the warranty already expired u should ask the seller whether he give u his personal warranty or not.... |

QUOTE(tashfinsheikh @ Aug 12 2011, 12:22 AM) When buying iPhone (Used) one as the sifus taught me.what should you look for ? how can you know it is a good mobile ? like firmware, modem firmware etc if u can possibly bring laptop with you, open https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do and enter the serial number to check the warranty then check on the cosmetic wear. and if possible also, ask seller to use his simcard to check the 3G, Signal and reception. and check the WIFI if it is functioning too. open a few songs/video and check the speakers. using your phone, call the seller while his SIM is in the iPhone that you are going to use and check the internal speaker. you may want to ask the seller to talk to you to test this. there. bring your microsim, and test it out on the spot to check whether it is unlocked. but the sifus told me that all local set is already officially unlocked. if it is locked, you might want to ask seller to provide gevey sim for you to test the phone. hope this helps |

And don't worry about the warranty, because Apple devices warranty work on any authorized service centre on this planet regardless the region or country. Sometime, they don't even need your proof of purchase, the service officer just need your device serial number, then they'll check online if your device still under the coverage of warranty.

EXCEPT for iphones. so yeah TS should worry about warranty as welland make sure you get a proper unlocked version. really not worth it dealing with gevey sim and whatnot This post has been edited by dvlzplayground: Aug 15 2011, 05:58 PM |
