SpOOkY: I've heard AF gear problems about the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8... haven't heard of problems on the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5. Yes it's good enough for closeups... if you use a 100mm F2.8 Macro also you cannot get as close to the subject as the 17-70mm can. It's a great lens for still life and flowers, but not insects lah.

I break my A300 LCD on saturday. I sent my A300 to service center yesterday(monday) around 12pm, and i checked my repair status online at 11am today(tuesday), status updated and quote me rm178 for the repair and ask me to call to confirm for the repair. i called them, RM178 is the hardware charge and no labour charge coz still under warranty. And they told me it will takes about 2-3 days to fix. Hope it can fixed soooon.

Isn't it we can adjust both Aperture and Shutter simultaneously while holding AEL?
Then just do a slightly touch on Aperture/Shutter for correct exposure...

hmmmm is it me or is a new battery's shooting capacity extremely long?
just had 850 shots over the weekend over a single 100% charge, with 21% battery life on an A200 with eye-start AF off.

i didn't say tech event.

for me it's not whether USED TO IT. for me, it's whatever the fastest.

i love Av mode simply because my shots are mostly based on aperture so I'll let the came decide the shutter.

ahh sunlight. it also depends on direction of the sun. in some cases. turning different area would mean different exposure.

last time i n00b. always use M mode, a lot of things snap la but kinda slow.

then i met some expert photographer from SG - teach me about modes. nowadays I just stick to modes for the convenience. rarely touch M already.

My method... I always take one shot using manual mode to get the best ambient exposure. For measuring the ambient, I just let the camera use multi-segment metering. A bit underexpose if I need too. If the subject is dark, I just use flash. I prefer using manual power ratio instead of TTL.

However sometimes it's just too bright that your flash just can't overpower the ambient. The only solution is to shoot in the shade. It's easier to control your exposure this way.

err, how long must i charge my battery for the first time ya?? until the light go off or must leave for few hours more??

got lots of dust on my sensor.. tried blowing for few times already but didnt change much.. what else can i do ya??
