I'm using Davidueck V5-HP now (WM6.1 only), with latest Topaz dialer, which unfortunately does not seem to support Landscape mode. Overall the ROM is very stable. But it's still not yet my favorite ROM...

when you said new ROM, do you only consider stock ROM (officially released by HTC) or do you include cooked ROM as well?

For cooked ROM that requires SPL > 1.54, HardSPL 1.14 will NOT work. So you still have to find your way to upgrade your SPL to 1.54 in order to flash cooked ROM like Dutty 2.7 / 2.8.

Added on April 15, 2009, 1:53 amflashing to Dutty 2.7/2.8 ROM is more tedious than before. You have to find a stock ROM (UK / Europe) with 1.54 SPL, and flash it. And the flash will be incomplete and will prompt you some error message to scare the hell out of you.

But don't panic. The Radio and bootloader have already been flashed before this error message come out. So just continue to flash with Dutty 2.7/2.8 via USPL. It will work eventually.

I skipped 2.7 and went ahead to 2.8. But I'd like to try the Rhodium-based 2.7 and want to know why more people like Topaz-based instead of Rhodium-based GUI. hmm... aren't they the same?!

I miss the landscape mode with dialer. It's no longer available in 2.8

Does your 2.8 has a slider in dialer?

wahh... why yours didn't work? It works for mine everytime.

Installed Dutty 2.9 more stable than 2.8, haven't experienced freeze/hang as so often on 2.8.

still no hang with Dutty 2.9, even after very heavy customization I've done! All rotation works flawlessly too, even though I don't really like Flip-It as it is harder to add new apps. Looks like this is the best ROM ever!

first u must have 3G or H icon appear on your phone, then only can use 3G. Otherwise you can't make video call, the phone won't allow you to.

If you doubt it's your account and not phone problem, how about try with another SIM card that is known to work with 3G?

call maxis to activate your 3G video.

how about use other phone to video call your phone? (both phones must have 3G/H network at very first place)

1) try your SIM on other phone and use 3G
2) try other SIM on your HD phone and try 3G

this is to rule out whether it's phone issue or account issue.
If you can't do this, then it's less likely we'll able to get you anywhere near fixing your problem.

Most Garmin maps are not free. Free ones are MSM and MFM for Malaysia maps. What other maps you're looking for?

"MY MAXIS"
"MY MAXIS 3G"
all these phone configuration configured in your phone?
Your top left corner should display "MY MAXIS" or "MY MAXIS 3G".

These settings will be PUSHed to your phone if you had Hard Reset your phone. This indicates that your Maxis account has been configured well and recognize your phone. I'm not sure if this can only be done during first setup after Hard Reset or there is another way to activate the first time setup wizard for your phone...
