Using a alienware tactx headset now. It's kinda pricey, for gaming its good but for movies it kinda sucks.

Not many headsets out there that would give a good balance of gaming and entertainment quality. One has to be sacrificed in most cases. wink.gif

Well it's basically the same OEM as the SS 5Hv2 so it lacks in that aspect.

Time to move on and get something better than the 5Hv2. Many other options already these days. thumbup.gif

Hi guys, im thinking of getting a headset, was thinking of getting an orca ealier, but i need a mic so im looking to get a gaming headset now. What i have in mind is either the razer megalodon or the roccat kave?I heard the the roccat kave is kinda heavy so weight is also an important factor to me. What do u guys think? or do u guys can recommend me any other brand besides this two?

If you are considering the Megalodon as well then I think I can assume that your budget is a lot, then what about headsets by SteelSeries? Maybe can consider either the 7H or Siberia V2. biggrin.gif

one thing you need to ask yourself.
are you an audiophile?
if not, any gaming headset is okay.
get the ones youre comfortable wearing

only some gaming headset are of bad sound quality, others are just average.
usually in rm250 range and above, the sound already good enough.
audiophile ppl tends to kacau us ppl buying headset cos you can get better audiophile headphone for the price of the headsets.
somehow, they think the price doesnt justify the sound quality

if you value music more, get audiophiles headphones, and get seperate mic for gaming

if you game hard, get 2 pairs of headset and headphone.

you cant crave what you havent had a taste of yet,
so better dont try that audiophile headphone, later you'll want to get them tongue.gif

I'm currently waiting for the Logitech G930 wireless gaming headset to arrive. Estimated price should be around RM500-RM650. I have read the reviews and so far alot of reviewers are giving nice points to it. biggrin.gif

Actually if me, I won't buy the USB soundcard unless I'm traveling a lot going to different places for tournaments. Otherwise, best to a better internal soundcard to pair with the gaming headset. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the input guys, i have an audiophile headphone as well tongue.gif Need to get a mic actually but i dont like the clip ons. So i narrowed my choice to either the megalodon or the 7h. Another question guys, is an usb sound card good enough? Don't feel like getting a pcie sound card.

If you are just using an on-board soundcard then yes the USB soundcard should help improve a little and is good enough for gaming purposes. Best of all, you have the same audio quality no matter where you go! biggrin.gif

It is true that once u get ur hand on audiophile headset.... there is no turning back.

Last time i always ok with crap headset.... but after i research for a long time, i got poisoned by the audiophile headset and get my AD700. Been using it for games, music and movies. Never before feel so satisfied and im been holding myself to try higher headset.

So guys, think twice before touch the 'poison'
