Yea, some people prefer more bass (also depends on the kind of thing they hear most of the time). Similar concept to why some people would install super huge woofers for their car.

That Corsair headset reminds me of an Everglide headset. Seems like there are more brands going into gaming products as well.

QUOTE(perky @ Sep 27 2010, 02:59 AM) Hi guys, im thinking of getting a headset, was thinking of getting an orca ealier, but i need a mic so im looking to get a gaming headset now. What i have in mind is either the razer megalodon or the roccat kave?I heard the the roccat kave is kinda heavy so weight is also an important factor to me. What do u guys think? or do u guys can recommend me any other brand besides this two? If you are considering the Megalodon as well then I think I can assume that your budget is a lot, then what about headsets by SteelSeries? Maybe can consider either the 7H or Siberia V2. |

Actually if me, I won't buy the USB soundcard unless I'm traveling a lot going to different places for tournaments. Otherwise, best to a better internal soundcard to pair with the gaming headset.

QUOTE(perky @ Sep 28 2010, 12:35 AM) Thanks for the input guys, i have an audiophile headphone as well If you are just using an on-board soundcard then yes the USB soundcard should help improve a little and is good enough for gaming purposes. Best of all, you have the same audio quality no matter where you go! |

QUOTE(genjo @ Sep 28 2010, 01:57 AM) It is true that once u get ur hand on audiophile headset.... there is no turning back. Definite an audiophile headset is already a different class compared to a gaming headset. I'm not sure about the rest but I don't think we will ever see someone bring an audiophile headset to tournaments. Usually it is always SteelSeries and Razer dominating in the gaming scene. Last time i always ok with crap headset.... but after i research for a long time, i got poisoned by the audiophile headset and get my AD700. Been using it for games, music and movies. Never before feel so satisfied and im been holding myself to try higher headset. So guys, think twice before touch the 'poison' |

QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Sep 28 2010, 08:51 AM) Is Steelseries 7H USB headset > Logitech 930 headset? It seems like alot of people recommend it at the moment... Still no exact date or whether the distributor will be bringing in the Logitech 930. Actually, as long as you have a good soundcard, you don't need the USB soundcard from SteelSeries. |

Sennheiser and SteelSeries are both different class and shouldn't be compared head-to-head from all aspects in my opinion.

QUOTE(perky @ Sep 29 2010, 12:18 AM) I'll be gaming on my laptop back home, so a headset with a sound card will be good. Some people prefer using various noises to burn-in.Btw, should i just keep playing musics for at least 24 hours to achieve better sound on the V2? http://www.burninwave.com/ |

QUOTE(Boomeraangkid @ Oct 7 2010, 05:05 PM) We'll now have to see if it could really stand up against the other established gaming brands. Let's just hope it doesn't become another CM Storm scenario. |

Could take months for the Corsair headset to reach Malaysia if the distributor is bringing it in.

About those audiophiles vs gaming headsets, if you get the higher quality ones then of course the gaming headsets won't be able to match them but after all, both are different categories so you can't actually put them on a head-to-head comparison.
I remember someone mentioning that his gaming headset could outperform an audiophile headset (but the audiophile isn't those high-end ones, those entry level). |

QUOTE(zaqu3 @ Nov 3 2010, 10:39 PM) I think its best to refrain urself from gettin razer headsets. I do experience the issue with the audio jack and sometimes volume controller as well in which I have to adjust it properly before both sides have sound. It's quite irritating and I know how you feel. their gaming mice is awesome, been using my DA nearly 3 years. still works great. i own a piranha and a charcharis. both had similar malfunction after a usage of 6 months ++ 1.speakers start crackin up 2.then lost of hearing in in left speaker. had to mess around with either the audio jack behind the pc or volumes clip to get that left speaker to work again. 3. zzz. the left speaker cracks up again n lost of hearing. usually happens after a sudden rise of sound. maybe from gun fire, a chopper flying by or hearing techno musics. 4. the volume clip fails utterly. its volume up/down label on the clip wore up after frequent use. and so does the mute mic button labes. overall. awesome for a lifespan of less than 5 months. im lookin into logitech g930 wireless. im traumatized my wires n volume clips now. |

QUOTE(big fat panda @ Nov 15 2010, 08:14 PM) Probably you can try SteelSeries Siberia V1. From Razer then it would be the Carcharias, if you don't mind without a mic and a green color headset then the Orca would be fine as well. |
