x payah la... kau baca sendiri pastu suruh la pomen tu cek. and tell them no need to touch/promote unnecessary stuff (engine flush/oil treatment/minyak gamat/etc).

Regular maintenance Rule Of Thumb (correct me if i'm wrong)

Every 5k mileage
1. engine oil change
2. oil filter change
3. check and clean air filter

Every 20k mileage
1. engine oil change
2. oil filter change
3. fuel filter change
4. spark plug change
5. air filter change
6. transmission fluid change
7. radiator coolant change
8. CO tuning

the rest u can check like clutch free play, steering free play, etc if u feel the need to do so.

also important is the need to check the level/quality of the brake fluid in the reservoir. regularly bleed (i do it every 50k) and replace the brake fluid. power steering fluid also need to be taken care of.

sifoo singchaii  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  should be able to advise further as this is his daily job.
yup, sold and swapped. back to stock brakes. light and zippy!

well actually i got sentimental and was reminded about this band Carburettor Dung back in secondary school 'hey'days...  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
*
Every 5k is correct.. But spark plug must be change every 10k km cause we using cooper plug. Fuel filter is 40k km. Transmission is depend.. Hehe..

Now back to work already.. Hari raya haji off 2 days so syok. Monday and tuesday. And now gonna work. Feel so lazy. sweat.gif sweat.gif

QUOTE(blackpc @ Dec 14 2008, 07:17 PM)
kau pakai rim standard balik ke??
*
Yup.. I'm using 14inch rims. Cause using 14inch with 185/60/14, the car handling become better especially when the road is wet and the pick up is there.. Using 15inch, our car lost alot of traction... I'm using stock absorber with apm sport spring now. Layan corner more stable than my previous setup with 15inch wheel. Cause perfect handling for our car is 14inch wheel. icon_rolleyes.gif

cause doesn't mean the bigger wheel, the more stable the car. Wheel big, the big chances getting skid. The prefect will be following the stock spec. I feel the different after using 14inch wheel. The same corner i always play maximum can layan till 120kmh. while after using 14inch i can layan at 140kmh more stable.. I'm not kidding and I'm just sharing and gain my experience after testing all my colleague car at my working working. Although there using wira, perdana and waja, all still using following spec.. Damn stable. Furthermore, we are mechanic and our car my be stable and good condition all the time.

First, our car weight is not that heavy. Not above 1tan.. Using big wheel, the car is not heavy enough to be create the traction.

hmm.. that's weird. AFAIK, more surface means more contact. somehow the law of physic doesnt apply in this case?? wink.gif

It doesn't apply law of physic... Make it easy.. Let said your leg size is 7, and you try wear size 9 and run.. See what will happen.. First, i answer the same thing to my sifu, But he said doesn't come like this... Furthermore, the bigger tyre, the bigger contact, mean bigger skid especially when the road is wet. Agree? wink.gif

QUOTE(the_catacombs @ Dec 14 2008, 10:42 PM)
means if the car not heavy enough to create dat much traction, no point giving more rubber since it cant make use all of it??... hmm.gif
its all about fine tuning...  smile.gif
yeap.... larger surface means higher possibility to have aquaplaning....
*
Yes... Giving more rubber, mean giving more skid. If our car can create alot of traction, then we can use 15inch.. I always said, stock spec is the best. Mod by following the stock spec. Cause the engineer already design and count which spec is perfectly suit for each car there create. icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(blackpc @ Dec 14 2008, 11:56 PM)
agree, if the car have legs. in this case, it's perfectly bolted. Unless of course, we are talking about the use of spacers, which is still bothering me and many other users- then it's equal to small sized feet wearing big sized shoe.
but traction comes from moving car, so we cant calculate a stationary vehicle weight alone. I totally agree about the need to fine tune any modification, so basically we cant just upgrade once and then say it's not good. It's a trial and error process; the whole vehicle setup, the driver's skill and driving style.  icon_idea.gif

We can take the moral from my recent upgrade-and-downgrade of the front brake. I will not conclude that it was a bad upgrade, but it doesnt suit my driving style. Bear in mind that the original reason i upgraded was to avoid the use of spacers, not to add brake force.  sweat.gif

Of course, larger surface will have higher chance of aquaplaning, but take note that I once aquaplaned my mom's satria running on wobbly stock 13" tires in front of the 'late' mint hotel. I was only doing 70 and it was during a drizzle. The satria end up doing 720 (yup 720 not 180 or 360) degree spin and whack about 20m long steel divider. Total loss and I still have a scar at my right hand as a memory.
  rclxub.gif

Just my seringgit dua puloh sen though...  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
It because of the tyre... I believe 13inch wheel normally is using Monza HR7 which very bad when the road is wet. And, the wheel for a car cannot be too small or cannot be too big..

Traction not only count for the moving car. Traction happen when the tyre contact to the ground when the vehicle is heavy enough to press down the wheel.. When the vehicle is light, during high speed it will become more like. So it lost alot if traction. When lost alot of traction with bigger contact tyre, that mean it created bigger possibility to get skid.

Anyway, I willing to let you test my 14inch wheel setup and try to make hard core cornering as you which. I believe you will like it. icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(blackpc @ Dec 15 2008, 12:28 PM)
dont forget suspension setup as well. u cant solely blame the rims/tires for not giving u enough traction. Suspension setup is actually pushing the tire down instead of pushing the car up. As for rims, that's where the correct weight, offset, jj and tire size come into play.
*
suspension setup actually pushing the tire down? Maybe you are right.. Cause suspension another reason is make sure your tyre contact to the ground. But although it make your tyre contact to the ground, but can the suspension of the car being created have the ability to do so? Unless you driving the civic or lancer then it come to other way round.
QUOTE(yewwing @ Dec 15 2008, 12:34 PM)
bro singchai,
then which tyre to choose for 14" rim, any recommendation smile.gif

I'm using bridgestone turanza AR10 right now.

Bro sky, i wanna ask you about ur ride. When you using 4g15 block, how about your idling? My idling is rough but when drive is damn power. But when I make the idling smooth, when speeding my car like coughing. 4g15 block with 1.6 super touring flywheel is damn powerful man.. laugh.gif

for saga iswara oem front disc brake, it is compulsory to install spacer in front due to the protruding bolt on ur hub...

well... cannot 100% agree dat stock is the best.... car manufacturers build the car with many consideration in mind... ride comfort, performance, emission, cost, etc... u cant have best of all worlds... so, its up to u to choose which to sacrifice for another one to be better....
my friend told me rm170... unsure.gif  but i havent go survey it myself lah... mayb da price was few months ago... doh.gif
shocking.gif
same case as mine.... the effect would be tyre wobble... jack ur car up (front) and try to shake dat particular side wheel left and right.... it will wobble abit.... when cruising at high speed, u can feel ur car unintentionally sway left and right... sweat.gif
if ur idling is rough, its because of ur highcams...
and if u got skim ur flywheel, this make matters worse....

so, why not jz live with it... low rumble makes u constantly orgasm....

rm190 only for parada spec 2??... sifoo, got lubang to get latest tyre price quatation for me??... i'm surveying around for...

- yokohama parada spec 2
- yokohama Adrive R1
- kumho ecsta spt
- hankook ventus v12evo

size is 195/50/r15... thanks...

and if wise enough, recommend me some more nice tyres below rm200 budget.... gonna dump my nct5 soon... mad.gif

No more high cam edi.. Hehe.. Don't need high cam right now. laugh.gif

No point getting 1.5 gear box for our car. You will feel underpower.

for recond, Rm1.3k
for half cut, Rm900 can get. Depend your luck.

If you wanna gain improvement after change to 1.5 gear box, i can tell you it won't gain any improvement while you sure feel underpowered. If u really want power, get lmst or lmss gearbox.

short shifter... once u get used to it vr easy only... if feels hard, lube the moving parts with more grease lor... but it wouldnt help much... hahaha... sooner or later u will get used to it and know which direction or force needed to engage which gear... once it got it, vr nice.... macam pandu racing car everyday...
