@aaronwee
unlikely. if anything, Apple is getting stricter and more serious in tracking Mac sales.

me too smile.gif

I used to work there... that's why I said what I did... its definitely lack of training. the Macs, iPods n iPhone are there for the staff to demo, and for the customer to try out. if someone is using it as their personal cybercafe... that's not cool.

plenty of con-artist selling iPhone in LYN trade zone.
*all* of them are selling iPhone that is purchased overseas and reselling here. they aren't Apple partners and there's no warranty for the items being sold.

that's why I said, Apple is getting stricter in selling stuff nowadays...

yeah, Epi is notorious for marking up... looks like they haven't changed. as usual, no one willing to report them to Apple Asia, so no action taken.

@aaronwee
you seem to not understand how this works.
1. AppleCare is a customer contact line. Apple's staff & partners are not supposed to call that line, and if they do, Applecare staff will request the call is passed to the customer.

2. With reference to (1) above, Apple's entire business is built around the concept of no middlemen / agents, as far as possible. So the arrangement is that they will talk to you and only you and all conversations are recorded for future training purposes.

tl; dr version : If AppleCare, customer must call, not agent / reseller / service center staff.

@ signora bianca if you open your box @ the store, and you find its defective, you should demand immediate replacement from that store's stock. generally the APR & AAR managers will allow it. if they refuse, you should contact AppleCare at 1800 803 638 and get them to sort it out.

failing that, you should demand a refund.

legally, if the product is defective ( i.e. not working / damaged ) you are entitled to a full refund of the purchase price.

That's cos Malaysians apparently prefer low prices instead of good service.
