the iMac is my personal Mac, nothing important is running there. So even if it crashes, I don't lose anything.
That kind if risk is not acceptable when we sell RAM to customers, so we only carry KTA.

Basically, I'm willing to take the risk of data loss, on my personal iMac, but definitely not when recommending RAM to customers smile.gif

er, the iMac is not important at all... so I'm willing to take the risk.

as a company, machines cannot run a business like that.

anyway, what I do with my personal mac is not a reflection of machines corporate policy. so I'm not sure what you mean by practiced what I preach.

@ davey.havok
what I do with my iMac ... is very different from what all of you do with your Mac. its also similar to how a mechanic may use imitation parts in his car, knowing the weaknessess and knowing how to recover from them & not doing the same for his paying customers

basically, I am not your typical Mac user. My usage of my iMac is also not typical. I won't go into detail here, but lets just say the main benefit of using KTA is not applicable to me.

and you pointed out something very important

yeah... i personally would prefer to browse alone... but most bosses prefer to have 'attentive staff' ...

so I defer to the experienced people...

@she7
please PM me the name of the person you met. That's seriously not acceptable behaviour from machines staff.

@lonewalker @dinodog_Jr
the machines rebates are 10% off the next purchase, added up in a membership card. More details are available at machines > membership

yep... @dinodog_Jr.
did you read the website details?
the 10% is rebated to a membership card, which means your 2nd purchase is when you get to re-use the 10% earlier...

dey nimrod, wrong info.
its not interest, its additional 2%. Interest would mean you keep paying each month.

Additional means if someone pays RM100 for a product, with 6 month easy pay, he would pay RM102. then its divided 6 months, for RM17 per month.

Interest would mean extra 2% each month, right? smile.gif

I'm working with machines.

the 2% & 4% can be waived if you purchase the MacBook, no rebate, no promo, ... yes, we can waive the processing fees.

if you get stuck, please check with the store manager.

@ critter
I apologise that our sales staff in machines Sunway was unable to answer your questions & correctly refer your question to a senior person.

May we contact you directly to rectify this matter? Please email me at jeyadev.jakob@machines.com.my and I'll look into your queries personally.

QUOTE
Sales guy told me I am not eligible to the RM98 rebate which is extra. 2% of 29,914 is 598.28. According to him, max rebate is only RM500. So the extra 98.28 is burn.

please note, this part is incorrect. we have an additional method for customers who cross the RM500 maximum for our membership. I can't discuss that here for obvious reasons.

@Crusader
the same request applies to you too.

Part of the reason I clearly identify myself as machines staff is to enable LYN forumers to feedback, and hopefully resolve the situation. Back when I started out in MacAsia, I used to be upset as well, and one decision I made back then was that I would always try to help forumers (myMUG & LYN at least) to sort out any issues.

we encourage you to keep the receipts for all your purchases, to speed up warranty claims.
if your Apple keyboard & mouse was purchased separately from your Mac, it will have a 1 year warranty.
