ok for those of you who still cant get over the fact that theres charges on the EPP 0% by Machines. They will omit the charges if you are willing to not go for promotion or membership rebate meaning to say,you go to the shop get a mac and thats it,you can enjoy 0% EPP without any charges.

for the gift conscious person like you terencetoo,Machine still offer EPP refer on the maccity vs machine discussion i have detailed it there dont want to repeat. As for freebies(never was enticed by any of this) Machines promo is detailed at their shops no longer in their website,one salesman said this is to prevent copycating by other resellers if its at their website.

hmm i dont like to repeat myself,here goes:

Scenarios:

If you buy a macbook with EPP and take their promo theres no rebates theres of course the processing fees of 2% for 6 months and 4% for 12 months.

If you buy a macbook with cash and take their promo theres no rebates theres of course no processing fees of 2% for 6 months and 4% for 12 months involved.

If you just buy a macbook without their promo(No Freebies) and also without taking rebates theres of course no processing fees of 2% for 6 months and 4% for 12 months involved if you take EPP.

With or without economic slowdown the buying power is still high,people use that excuse to ask for more compared to what they are paying,hey if the economy hurts you dont get a mac,the economy is hurting the resellers too but well people are selfish they always think about themselves and the amount of freebies that can be gotten on a single purchase. Like i always say, freebies shouldnt determine the point of sale,it should always be the item that you are getting,cmon people be realistic you buy a BMW you cant demand free rims or petrol as freebies. Try to head to an Apple Store and ask for freebies,see how the Mat Salleh look at you lol.

dude seriously,how is free stuff which is given to promote a product not freebies? its called freebie marketing which essentially means "Freebie marketing, also known as the razor and blades business model, is the concept of either giving away a sellable item for nothing or charging an extremely low price in order to generate a continual market for another". ok lets put this plain and simple you ask your love of your life a hand in marriage,do you ask or demand her father for remuneration for marrying her? a house,car or cash doesnt add up does it same rule applies,if you really want something truly you wouldn't ask or demand for anything else to justify its purchase.

iwork has never been pre installed on any new macs for a very long time now,i remember mine came with a trial version back in 06/07. Hmm i sense some sort of piracy here since theres no more serial number required by iworks, a simple reason why machine doesnt do this is solely because they are an APR, so they tend to not install pirated software on your mac,thats my understanding la.

the way the resellers are hiring people these days are more on quantity,it takes a long time to train a new person especially those who use windows,and they typically have 3-4 months lifespan,the older and experienced staff normally stay on or quit because of income issues,thats why resellers higher contractual staff,easier to maintain,cheaper.

you could but only their free classes ask Jeya,he'll let you know more.

Ethically not, if they find out you are screwed. Its only meant for students here only. I bet he could buy it from the country he is going to.

you have to understand that margin from these products are very little at best,honestly the charges are little if you divide over x number of months.

or you could forgo those gifts and rebates and take the item for 0% at machines.

we were implying of official means, not non official way mind you. By right,only Apple Inc is entitled to give you student pricing, the reason why the seller is giving you a cheaper price is by lowering his profit margin,since the cost is lesser since he is not getting stocks from Apple Malaysia. Apple Malaysia would bind in a legal contract to sell items at a controlled price.Same goes with the other sellers in garage sales,its not because of Students per se.

hmm i thought macstudio is there already? kinda bad place to open a new mac store since theres epicentre in pavilion,machines at lot 10 and macstudio in lowyat.

look back at xaw's post he said no 2 Apple Premium Resellers in one mall, Maccity is just authorized reseller only.

Added on August 12, 2009, 10:27 amwell the lower portion of lowyat is monopolized by MTCS group which owns Macstudio, i doubt they would wanna open another similar shop.

are you sure? cause if im not mistaken its 4% for 6months and 2% for 12months.

hmm machines used to do what i said a few posts back, it seems its currently set at 4% now.

you need to get the ACPP to get the freebies, IMHo its worth it if you aere to walk into an actual apple store you dont get freebies so yea. I think Jeya explained before machine offers 0% if and only you dont opt for any freebies or membership rebates,in that case you pay the machines price over 12 months flat.
