Hey guys, i have a stock 4870 and was wondering what's the max monitor size (inches) that it's suitable with.
Can it handle a 22" 1080p monitor?
*
Edit: 4870 512MB is laggy in gaming (highest setting) for 1080. In this case, 1GB is a better choice. nod.gif

hi. new comer here. Use powercolor 4870. Anyone using this? Review from overclockersclub said the default core speed is 750Mhz. Mine come with default core speed at 800Mhz. Is it new bios or smthing that up the core speed?
*
Powercolor has several edition of 4870. I think urs is PCS+ which is among the best 4870 around. nod.gif

I think I have a prob with my 4870x2. Handles Crysis perfectly, but when it comes to vids at 1920x1080, the vid will be blur and whole pc will hang.

How come? less than 3 hours I play teh vid. Crysis 4 hours non-stop no prob
*
All vids like that or what? hmm.gif
What media player u use to play the vids?

I nearly grab a gecube 4870x2....so the stock heatsink really hot??
*
U can tweak the fan to spin faster during load.
Search for a bios with a better fan behavior profile.

You guys off topic too much already  laugh.gif

BTW guys, does anyone here using HD4870 + Thermalright HR-03GT / Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo?  blink.gif . Cannot stand my stock cooler, at 60% fan speed my GC will reach constant 68c - 70c  sweat.gif and damn loud  doh.gif
*
I recommend Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo.
The GPU temp can be reduced by 10-15C. nod.gif

PS: Do always opt for dual fan cooler for 4870

I crossfired my 4870x2 with 4870...

here the message the CCC give.

Running vantage gives strange graphics...why like this?? Have to put application profile to make it supported?

and i only get 10k score for the 4870x2 setup. Is this normal?

All stock clocks.

It consumes 150-220 watts at full load.
With 750W I hv, cannot OC 4870x2 at all.
I would say the psu u need is depends on yr whole system specs.
I hv liquid cooler, 2 hdd, 4 fans, 1 fan controller, 1 dvd writer, i7 proc

Dont waste time installing the new 9.x series drivers.
It has been anything but nightmare for me. Performance increase isnt there but it keep crashing my Vista 64bit. I was surprised that my computer always crash lately even though I seldom game and only torrent for 24/7. The only thing I can remember is having installed 9.2 at the end of Feb and it started to act weird. Rolling back to 8.12...

Same thing happen to me now.
