btw, it might b due to ur cpu? running 4ghz, maybe vcore not enough, and ur rams also..

well, tried a non-reference card..had issue after 2 months ...

well, actually...any cards will do..the main thing is the codec being used (at the moment, only power dvd utilizes the HA of the GPU)for htpc, u don't need something high end..the 4670 will do i guess ..for full hd playback, try using CoreAVC (optimized for full hd playback,not free though..)

stalker, don't really take up that much though..mine is modded version so makes the game much more scarier...might wanna consider getting a 3rd party cooler to cool down that card...it's worth the money imo..

not sure if it will power up or not, if possible, change to a 560w psu? at least 500w and above.

i don't have temp problem with my 4850 ...just slap on it a 3rd party cooler and u're good to go..i prefer reference card over non-reference card anyway 8.12 is not released until next week

for 200+, i'll suggest u get a Thermalright gpu cooler...if u don't wanna spend more on gpu heatsink, u got 2 choices. 1: Artic Cooling S1 rev 2 (RM120) or the Artic Cooling Twin Turbo (RM180 or less).
