Type of camera/lens/accesories:SLR or DSLR (is there a difference?)
Budget:
2000+Your Location: k.L
Preferable brand : Nikon (or Canon)
Type of photography u want to do : candid/still/landscape/motion
Any specific models in mind? : a D300 or D60 0R D5000
Any specific features u want? : not really.. just good quality pictures..
With a budget of around RM2k, it's impossible to get a D300 (RM5k) or a D5000 (RM3k).
Your only good choice is a D60. It doesn't mean that purchasing a DSLR will give you good quality pics.
I've seen pics taken with a P 'n' S they look much better than those stereotypes thinking DSLR = Good quality pics...

And tell me again why is that so?
For all I know SSS works the same regardless of the camera being full frame or cropped sensor
It (SSS) works just as well, with FF or cropped sensor.

Hi TechnoDude94. Thanks for the info.
I do agree Sony is very nice camera. The bad part is the memory which double the price of SDHC.
I fine with MicroSDHC. But any particular model from Olympus?
I can only think of the Olympus mJu Tough Series.
They use a MicroSD adapter with the xD card. If not mistaken, the adapter is included.

btw, i heard DSLR going to be outed in few more years, which type of camera is the latest now?
DSLRs will never be replaced. Heck, people still using SLRs (Film).
If you're talking about the latest technology, then it's Micro Four Thirds (M43).
