why amazoo US limit down 10pieces for wall-e? tongue.gif

I think it is because they're don't want people to hoard.

Just make a second purchase later. make no difference if you're using Vpost, rite?

Now let's talk about BDs. thumbup.gif
*
Ok.. sure.

As a waiter, one month wage in Australia, one can afford to buy 10 BDs,
but as waiter in Malaysia, one month wage can afford to buy only 1 BD.

That's how bad Malaysia income level is. sad.gif

my friend bought it is not cheap too
price is just abit cheap than ori 2nd hand bd... because bdr blank disc still expensive..
*
alexwlh,

Can you put that on your PC DVD drive and see if you can read or not?

If you can read its folder and directory, that means it is just a DVD not really BD.
They use different encoding scheme so that only BD player can play off this disc.

I am not sure if there is true BD clone yet because it is still pretty expensive to buy BD-Recordable media
even buying at large volume.

Ori BD prices aren't bad.. new releases coming down after a few weeks and I expect they will be the same
price as ori DVD this time next year.. and could be about RM35 each only.

Someone pls tell me whether The Thing UK version is region free or not... UK version is BD50 with all the missing supplements.

Btw, there is a guy said he got to track his items through standard shipment from Amazon UK. I didn't get any tracking for my BoB.  cry.gif
*
Yeah.. it is very strange that they have put more supplements on The Thing HD-DVD format than the Blu Ray format and
the HD-DVD format is dead and it is even smaller in size. I would recommend others to skip this version of BluRay until they re-master with a better version. Just like The 5th Element, which they came out with a later version that has better audio.

at my place they sell it rm85/bd..they said gred 1 pirated BD..better buy amazon hmm.gif
*
Waahh.. if they are selling at RM85, you're right, might as well buy from Amazon.
Who is so damn stupid to pay RM85 for fakes?

I bought Transformer BD last week during the Black Friday event only for US$10 (RM36.5), and shipping via
vpost with other bundles worked out approx. RM12.5 for that title. Total is around RM50 for an original 2 discs Transformer.

Damn jack sparrow in Malaysia wanted to charge by number of discs too.

RM 12.50 for shipping. Let me guess, around 7-8 titles in tha Vpost package?  tongue.gif
*
Yes... that's right. I wish I could put more but afraid of custom. tongue.gif

Amazon sometimes have very good deals on ori BDs and esp. around the holidays.
Also, I can buy from other web sites too like Deep Discounts... sweet..
they had 30% off last week.. I got Wall-E 3-discs and HellBoy 2 for $15 each.

Again.. no need to pay Jack Sparrows for shitty worthless high price fakes.

as for bd piracy, its just lame tactic to woo ppl of its hi-def bd... in fact its just dvd... so dont support it...
*
I think you hit it on the nail there. I think those movies avid fans do need to be educated that
those so called hi-def fakes are really nothing more than regular DVDs with fake BD case. Why pay more for it?

If they wanted pay more for better quality fakes to view on their new (& original) BD player..
they might as well get the original BD at the same price.

Shessh..RM85.. for a fake Blu. This is crazy! shakehead.gif
The buyers must be stupid. The Jack Sparrows must be having hellavua day ripping them off.

i saw them in really nice blu ray packgaing , it looks really really real. with the transparent blue box and the inner box you can see some design off the sleeve. i knew its fake, and no way they gonna invest in buying empty blu ray disc (25g) and selling it right?

unless theyve already started that?  rclxub.gif

as far as i know theyve just been compressin blu ray into d9 disc which doesnt really make any diff and charging it at a high price. my dads friend bough a few. poor old guy.
*
He probably kick himself later he tries to show off his big screen TV and found out later than the movie wasn't in 1080p, and the best native mode is just unconverted from 480p (or hi def lite) from a DVD media.

Blu-Ray is the future and DVD will end up like VCD. Tossed out the window together with the trash.
*
No, I don't think DVD will be tossed up like VCD but VCD definitely will be tossed up like VHS tapes.

A good BD player can upscale a good original DVD to near HiDef quality but definitely doesn't work well
for fakes or pirated D9 craps.

For VCDs, this should never have taken off in Asia but some poor folks in Malaysia are conned
into this format, are stupid enough to buy VCD only players as even as late as last year.
Shops like Speedy and HVN should stop selling VCDs immediately. It doesn't make economic sense to
continue to remaster and downgrade movies to VCDs format.

Yeah.. very envy of those all those people in US and Canada can buy cheap DVDs and Blurays!
We poor Malaysians not only have to pay 20%~30% more than what they're paying for importing and worst thing about this is our currency purchasing power is so damn low.

For vpost, best deal is to order per bulk is 10-15 titles per shipment but
as long you can get good deal and not the exceed the RM500 limit otherwise
there is a risk in getting taxed by customs.

astro also cannot watch

guys, the tdk blu-ray is worth to buy or not?
*
TDK is worthy to buy, definitely recommended for this year as one of the top ten BD.
TDK is the best action comic book adaption for this year, story is much better than Iron Man
but in terms of extra materials, I like Iron Man BD better..

Since you mentioned Astro.. <sigh>... I've dumped my Astro sub months ago.
Astro picture quality sucks big time on my LCD. Last check, even their latest digital
box with PVR doesn't have hdmi or digital audio output...

I'll come back when they get off their lazy ass and start giving us high def.

Anyone here still have Astro? tongue.gif

Hey Ninja,

I saw that wireless keypad pic that you got there.

How does that work? Is it better to get this as oppose to a standard wireless keyboard for the PS3?

IMO, for this year animation, I think Wall-E AQ/PQ BD is slightly better than KungFu Panda.
but, I do like KungFu Panda story better - damn funny. thumbup.gif
