Things I don't fancy about Plasma TVs are:
- the front panel is flimsy glass (unlike solid glass on normal CRT TV), so if you have kids... beware
- The "burn-in" factor after a prolonged display of graphical elements (like the fixed channel logo on edge of screen) over time
- If you want your tv to be 37" and bigger only...
The good things however:
- The black level is superior compared to most LCDs
- Contrast ratio too
- Less power consumption compared LCDs (if not mistaken)
- Price is more affordable than LCDs
But just my 2 cents....
the glass is very tough now....the salesman bang the glass in front of me...- the front panel is flimsy glass (unlike solid glass on normal CRT TV), so if you have kids... beware

no burn in effect for all new panel lar.....
now 32" also available liao....
black still champion
contrast ratio also champion
consume a bit more power than LCD but i think for 50" , I have to pay like RM80 more a year
for big screen....cheaper than LCD
colour very natural, no motion blur
for me the cons:-
the reflection!!!! LG & Panny model like looking into mirror
Pioneer better but in day time with direct bright background....just like the old CRT
