shxt, saw the same remote yesterday during PC fair here listed at RM1199  rclxub.gif

OT a bit, anyone here using Belkin PureAV 8 Way Home Cinema Surge Protector http://www.futureshop.co.uk/belkin-pureav-...r-2m-p-421.html
Is this use mainly for surge protection, what about better/cleaner power supply for HT or HiFi ? Mind to share ur opinion ?

asking cos saw that at PC fair selling RM199,the 6 way selling RM159. smile.gif

For Belkin products I think better buy locally, not too expensive and got local insurance. I'm using the one with 7 plugs with RM25k insurance. It's around RM250, more expensive because bigger power support and better noise filtering.

Guys, is it safe to pre-order TDK from Amazon UK? Any source regarding the region coding of this disc? Thanks.
*
Never come across any Warner titles to be region lock, even the recent Matrix trilogy is region free. But yes, to be safe need to confirm first. And that only after it's released in the UK methinks.

The Dark Knight UK version is 2 disc, while the US version is 3 disc with Digital Copy. Mine is US version because I want to put it into my iPhone.

Now, I have to delete one movie, my iPhone is almost full. sweat.gif

Added on December 10, 2008, 7:31 amFirst Reports In: The Dark Knight Smashes UK Blu-ray Records

The first numbers are in, and the Blu-ray release of Warner Brothers 'The Dark Knight' sold 107,730 copies on its first day of release in the UK, representing 21% of total sales for the title. Last month, the total number of Blu-ray Discs sold in the UK was 463,000, making this one day record-breaking gross that much more impressive.

Lavinia Carey, director general of the British Video Association, commented, "Since Blu-ray was adopted as a high definition format, sales have gone from strength to strength. The promising sales of Blu-ray discs demonstrate that increasingly more people are recognizing the substantial increase in quality that Blu-ray provides."

'The Dark Knight' is being released today in the US, and is expected to break many records state-side as well.

According to the latest GfK Retail and Technology Japan data, Blu-ray recorders broke the 50% barrier during the first week of November, meaning that unit sales of Blu-ray recorders surpassed that of DVD recorders for the first time ever. Compared to the same time last year, when Blu-ray's market share was only 10%, the format has shown rapid growth.

Additionally, statistics show that the Blu-ray format is outpacing DVD in replacement speed as well. The high definition format is replacing DVD recorders 1.5 times faster than DVD recorders replaced VHS decks. The trend is expected to continue as recorder prices continue to drop.

Finally tested Hellboy II last night. Is it just me, or the DTS-HD MA track is really loud? It was just at -27dB but already sounded like -20dB. An the PQ is not as good as the reviews are saying. It's very good, but not the one I would say a reference.

Be careful with HK versions guys. Most of them are only using BD25. Not sure about this TDK though.

The Dark Knight Sells 600K on First Day Sales

Warner Bros. Reports are in, and the Warner Brothers release of 'The Dark Knight' sold approximately 600,000 copies in the US, Canada, and UK on Tuesday, which works out to 20% of all home media sales for the title. This single day accomplishment blows away the previous record holder 'Iron Man' which sold approximately 250,000 on its first day of release.

Kevin Tsujihara, President of Warner Brothers Home Entertainment, commented, "Numbers like these in this economic environment firmly establish Blu-ray as where consumers are headed."

Sales are already beating internal projections, and are expected to eclipse the 1 Million sold mark by Saturday.

Did you purchase 'The Dark Knight' on Tuesday? If so, don't forget to add it to your Blu-ray.com Collection List!

Arj, time for a standalone player. The PQ/AQ for BD35 really rivals the PS3. Plus it can bitstream the HD audio. brows.gif

Or, you want my original PS2 compatible 80GB PS3? whistling.gif

I can't afford the Oppo. sweat.gif

You guys sure wanna bulk? This kind of stuff better buy individually, if not kastam will suspect you doing business already.

My BD35 was shipped using the player's own box, the kastam didn't even bother to check because for one player it's surely for personal use only.

BTW, when everyone starts using a standalone player already, this thread is no longer relevant in the Playstation forum.

This aspect ratio thing on TDK is not something you would call a "problem". It was intended that way, they're trying to minimise the cropping of the 70mm IMAX shots. The 1.78:1 ratio is already cropped from the original 1.44:1 ratio. Imagine how much we'll lose if they crop to 2.40:1. However, the anamorphic 35mm shots were not touched to maintain the 2.40:1 ratio.

Check the Dolby TrueHD track on Celine Dion BD, the bitrate is around 10Mbps. With 96kHz/24bit sampling, it is one of the best Dolby TrueHD I've ever heard. thumbup.gif

I'm planning to buy one of my favorite movies of all time, Casablanca. But it's too expensive right now.

I will also buy Sin City, I bet the lossless audio will be 10 times better than the DVD.
