Hello aLL!

I wanna ask about Sky Diving. Tried before? How was it?
I wished to go for a Sky Diving .. how much would it cost! Where is it? People who knows or had done it before , do share.

Thanks ! rclxm9.gif

Current discussion/planning :

The trip by Nemoexcel :

"

RM1500 is not fixed. I reckon it to be lower..

AA flight currently RM408. Promo times can be as low as RM190
1 Tandem jump THB7500 (if final jumpers count > 10 ) http://www.thaiskyadventures.com/skydiving_cart.html
Twin sharing accomodation THB950 x 3 nights / 2 pax = THB1425
or Quad sharing THB1700 x 3 nights / 4 = THB1275
Return coach transfer frm BKK to Pattaya approx THB400

Accomodation at Photisarn Sports Apmt http://www.changproperty.com/photisarn-frame.htm
Staying here will ease the pickup to Sriracha DZ on 2nd day.... Included in the package at no extra charge.

I will arrange for the Jump, accomodation and coach transfer (if same flight). AA's booking will be self initiative as the fares are irregular...

I will try my best to assist any questions..... You can read thru the thread as well

Cheers

"

I don't think Genting is going to take you up a plane and let you sky dive. There's only stimulated Skydive in a wind tunnel which I did back I think 10 years ago.

However, TS although I can't help much.... google can do wonders:

I've tried contacting the two websites above before, no answer. They were created early in the century and have not been updated since biggrin.gif

Also do realize that all the jumps advertised in Malaysia are static line jumps from around 3000-4000 feet. This means you don't experience any freefall. I much prefer the tandem or accelerated Free Fall techniques, even the tandem jump will start at around 13000-15000 feet and you get about 60-90 seconds of freefall. Unfortunately nobody I know in Malaysia does AFF. Talked to Whoa Adventures some months back but their skydive is on hold until further notice...

At this point I think nowhere in the region (M'sia/Singapore) unless you want to fly out to Australia...

I'll definitely post if I get more info, I'm looking to do the Accelerated Free Fall program but I need to get funds first biggrin.gif

Hurm, I'm also looking into this. I'm interested with tandem skydiving. Just looking for one time adrenaline rush experience. But it seems like there's limited availability/oppurtunity in Malaysia. Nearest option is Australia.

hi
whoa adventures mentions skydiving: static line and tandem available again
rates below RM1300 per pax
might give some marginal discounts if able to recruit at least 8pax.
if too expensive, there is paragliding and paramotor discovery and learn to fly courses.

good luck! flex.gif

Yay for Whoa, I've used them for rafting and they're great guys.

But RM1300 is expensive. Imagine how much it'll cost for a AFF course if they ever come up with one. Anyway it's still highly recommended if you can afford a jump. I'll save my money for now, economic situation not great...

Hi u guys are still interested in Skydiving? I am organizing 1...

http://www.thaiskyadventures.com/skydiving_cart.html

I've got everything in order now. I need more jumpers to lower down the cost. Budget approx RM1500 for a 5D/4D adventure.
(inclusive of AA return ticket, twin sharing accomodation, 1 Tandem jump at 13K ft with FF of 60seconds, Coach frm BKK airport to Pattaya)
(excluding meals, beers and pocket $$)

Optional video of your whole jump : THB3500

We need to fly AA to BKK, and then take a coach to Pattaya. Stay in Photisarn apt. Thaiskyadventures will provide the return pick-up from Photisarn to the DZ in Sriracha

After jumping down frm 13K ft above sea level, those of you who wanna join me to Scuba dive down to 40meter below sea level in Pattaya, you are welcome too ... :-D

date is not confirmed. I am looking at Jan2011 to avoid the wet months...

Yes, tandem dive IS for beginners :-D (its my 1st time too... haha... but I've done quite some research on it... and this Thaiskyadventures has been operating in Pattaya for > 8 years ... 1 of the cheapest and most organized around... they are even able to provide video shooting of your jump!!

Besides the skydiving, you can join me for scuba... and some beers at night!! The rest you suka hati lo ... free and eazy... why 5D/4N ? Just in case the weather is bad and not suitable for jump, then we can postpone it to the next day.. We dowant to come back to Msia without any jump right? :-D

Sezretz : OW is able to go down to 18M .. you need Advanced OW to go down to 36M. If interested, I have another slot for scuba dive in Bali 30Sept - 5Oct 2010. You need to book your AA flight ticket by this week and let me know if you are coming.
LCCT - DPS (Bali) 30Sept10 AK366
DPS - LCCT 5Oct10 AK367

The cost around USD400 excluding dive equipments. PM me since this is a skydiving thread... sorry guys

nemoexcel, cool! Unfortunately I'm travelling a lot the next several months for classes, probably won't be able to commit to a date sad.gif

Just curious, how much would a second jump be? A big discount? I was seriously interested to jump again after my first tandem but the guys where I jumped at was charging full rate for the second jump and I was short on money after trying out paragliding. I would highly recommend a second jump!

Agree 100%. I wish I could afford the whole AFF training not just 1-2 jumps...

The most exhilarating part is obviously the jump out the plane door, but the scariest part is waiting the 10-15 minutes for the plane to climb to 13000 feet!

Mannnnn....!! Just like what I said about you in my PM!! notworthy.gif Do u mean spelunking? Or you ARE talking about scuba into 1 of those dark eerie caves?? whistling.gif ... with AOW, i've Deep dived, Night dived, Drift dived, dived thru underwater Boulders .... but not CAVERN!! Sweetie, you need to get your AOW 1st, then continue with PADI's Cavern Diver Speciality course B4 you can even think of squeezing yourself into 1 ....

not up to spelunking yet, but i've toured Mulu's cave system... its spectacular!! ... go do that b4 your Cavern (if you've not done so) tongue.gif

out of topic again.. sorry guys

Back to skydiving.... I am confirming the date of the Tandem jump 7-10Jan11 ... munkeyflo ok with this date?

At the moment, we have :-

1) myself
2) anonymous + 1
3) munkeyflo (+1)
.
.
.

Sezretz, you were top of the previous list.... why now just chat about scuba?? shakehead.gif

For those who are unable to make it to this group and would like to go on your own (B4 or after our date), you can PM me. I have a contract arrangement with the owner of thaiskyadventures and you may get a cheaper price (compared to their group pricing published in their website http://www.thaiskyadventures.com/skydiving_cart.html ).

Ya, thought of reducing 1 night as the possibility of a bad weather postponement is very slim. They told me the jumps are 99% according to schedule... You may want to add some days for yours shopping.... Lets look at the date 7-10Jan2011 and keep an eye on AA promotion from now on. Once good deal, lets jst grab it.... the jumps are easily arranged from then onwards.

Hello people... anymore interested jumpers out there? We are serious here... lets all stick to this date, and we shall get a group pricing. ON TOP of that, I've got better pricing which i shall reveal later to those in the group... sounds good?

Selamat Hari Raya & Happy holidazs........ rclxm9.gif

Thanks janszmatt for the recommendation. I think Oxbold is cool for lots of extreme sports but they are either not updating their website or not sure on the jump schedule. Coz their site says Tandem Skydive is NOT available at this point of time. Even if there is, their jump is only at 10,000ft which limits the FF time frm 60seconds down to 40seconds. FF is the idea of the WHOLE skydiving thingy, not the parachute part which had to be yanked at 5,000ft

I've also researched that many a times, the jump schedule in Segamat DZ is being called off due to weather condition. So the weekend drive down may not guarantee a jump. Thaiskyadventures boast a 99% jump on schedule and they have been jumping at Sriracha DZ for the past 8 years!

Found something worth a giggle on Oxbold's FB :-D ... must watch the ending...... have fun

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DypnQQDAaU

Added on September 15, 2010, 9:54 amOh, jst realized the price you quoted is for Static Line jump instead of Tandem. SL jump is jst the parachute part & only being jumped at below 5,000ft (probably 4,000ft for 1st time jumpers). The moment the jumper leap frm the aircraft at 4,000ft, the parachute is automatically yanked and its jst parachuting the whole time... no FF at all..... sorry mate, i really dont consider that as skydiving ;-)

Bro, trip is on 7-10Jan2011. There will be 1 jump on the 8thJan. Each jump will cost around THB8500-9000 . So depends on how deep your pocket is, then you let me know how many jumps you wanna take up... We will have to finalize the jump soon. Waiting for AA for some good fares to BKK.... jst keep an eye... I will have to round up some deposits for the jump and accomodation, probably by Oct2010.. This is to secure the booking with them and to avoid any cancellation....

Latest update, I might be able to get a PADI instructor to jump with us. So for those who wanna Skydive and later stay on to get yourself PADI OW certified, do let me know....

Awesome!! icon_rolleyes.gif more extreme enthusiast joining the fun! This will be a great start for 2011 thumbup.gif

And bro, u & your partner will be our 10th jumper!! That means our group will be getting the LOWEST group fees!! Thats THB7,500 (savings of THB2,450!!)

As for AA flight to BKK, Lets all keep each other in contact when there are low fares promo. At the moment, its RM408 for LCCT-BKK (AK742 / FD3575)... I'll prefer each group leader (as below) to book your own flights. That will save me the hassle on $$ collection issue... notworthy.gif
...For those who doesnt check PM/thread often, you can PM me your mobile... then I can call/sms when the fares are good...

Dear Shelyn

The RM1500 is not fixed.

Cheers

guys, ya i agree that the AA fare of RM408 is not the cheapest. But I am also adjusting for ppl who needs to take Annual Leave. So 14-17Jan2011 only needs 2 days of leave. For me, i really dont mind on RM408 ... will continue to wait for a better AA sale. But I will still fix the date for 14-17Jan2011.

I dived at Tulamben's USAT Liberty wreck. Water temp here normal (29degrees). Bump into a lonely huge Barracuda and Octopus.
Mola mola and manta rays are at Nusa Penida.. water temp freaking cold at 23degrees. It can go down to 17degrees. Thats when the mola mola will appear....

Dear Namo,
What's the normal flight price? If the difference is small, I'd suggest we continue waiting. Plus with the current sale, our travel period is not related to it at all. Even tough they claimed that there's RM99 flights, it seems that there's none. Why?

And yeah, could you add another pax for me as well? Seems like my friends are adrenaline junkies as well. smile.gif

hey everyone, my parents (frequent travelers) told me that january is peak season for Bangkok because of the wonderful weather.
so it might be a good idea not to delay in booking the flights anymore cause AA most likely won't reduce their price for peak seasons.

so how?

i also check the price during that promotion period which the traveling period was jan-march 2011. they put KL-BKK from rm99 all in. but i practically went thru the whole january and didn't see anything like that even on the first day of the promotion. doh.gif

If the current price is no different than normal flight prices, we better wait and pray that Tiger Airways and AA have a sudden price fight... If not worse come to worse one month before book RM400 flight lor

Guys,

ok, since we are all serious in this, lets just book the AA flight and get on with the planning? Hows that sound? The price seems not coming down and the number of flights available under promo fares getting lesser ...

This is what I suggest :-

KUL - BKK AK738 (11:50 - 12:55) - 14Jan2011
BKK - KUL AK751 (20:20 - 23:30) - 17Jan2011

If no objection, we will book tomorrow ok? (jst to give a night for everyone to have a last minute thought)

Speaking of which Namo, what's the itinerary anyway?

14th Jan - Arrival and transit to Pattaya
15th Jan - Jump
16th Jan - Transit back to Pattaya
17th Jan - Flight back to BKK?

Added on October 25, 2010, 10:20 amoh and another thing, is it possible that I have everyone's MSN? pretty sure it's better that we discuss this in a chatroom rather than a forum. smile.gif I'll start the ball rolling. Ladies are most welcomed to add me. wink.gif

14Jan - Arrive at BKK, bus/van to Pattaya. Check-in to Photisarn Sports apmt. Will probably reach around 4-5pm. Free & easy.

16Jan - Free & easy. Anybody who wants to join me & munkeyflo for scuba dive are WELCOME. Those without PADI license can do the Discovery Scuba, no license needed. THB4000 for 2 dives. Those with license THB2600 (with own equipements) & THB3000 (with equipment rental)
Bungee jump (THB1650) (60Meter) & Go-Kart (THB1200 for 2 races) is available as well (service provided by thaiskyadventures)

wookp, NAUI is good.... emphasize more on quality.... rather than PADI, very commercialized

PM u on my MSN ....

you guys going bangkok to shop? i was there this july for shopping actually. honestly didn't really buy much stuff. i'm pretty sure pattaya has lots of shopping as well. actually i was thinking maybe i'll go to bangkok earlier for shopping. haha.

nemo, i'll pm you my msn contact.
btw, i was checking AA and notice that even if i book to bangkok next week, the ticket price is still rm190 for normal price. so i think i will take the risk of waiting for next promo. besides, coming back no promo edi. sad.gif

Munkey,
I thought you wanted to go ahead and buy? Anyway, some of my friends already started to buy.
Shopping in BKK? Nah, nothing much to shop la. I rarely buy clothes. It's the ladies that want to go crazy shopping in BKK.

lol... ya it was munkeyflo who jacked-up the AA flight booking tongue.gif .. moreover i need you guys to confirm the flight and hence, less chances of ppl ffk biggrin.gif

hmm... seems like a lot of "side arrangement" eh... thats good... it means everyone is serious into this and we'll definately pump our adrenalin to max!!

I would suggest a meet up on 6Nov2010 (sat) to finalize things :-

1) final headcount (heads in own groups.. and we will wait for Enjoylife to pull his buddy in.... and Sezretz too)
2) headcount for those who need to join me from BKK airport - Photisarn sports apartment (in Pattaya) (refer my AA itinerary) .. and return on final day .. If headcounts are sufficient, I'll prefer to charter a van, cost a bit more, but less hassle ...
3) I need to collect a deposit (for the jump) cry.gif of RM350 each jumper. This is paid to thaiskyadventures asap to secure the jump seats. Will deduct this from the final jump fees later on.
4) How many jumpers need the optional video/photo .. check price here .. http://www.thaiskyadventures.com/skydiving_cart.html
I encourage jumpers to take it up as you dont know when u're gonna jump again rclxm9.gif
5) Get to know each other's faces smile.gif b4 the trip

Is everyone ok? Since we are still in open forum, we shall talk about venue & actual time when I have everyone's email .... ok?

erm. i'm going to pulau dayang for deepavali diving from 5-7th nov, so i can't make it for 6th nov. sad.gif
i should be following your itinerary exactly so will definitely follow you to and fro from BKK airport to pattaya.

re: dive gears
i was thinking the same thing. to bring the full set just for two dives or not. but i think i'm most likely gonna just pay slightly more to rent gears.
i just bought my bcd and reg (most expensive stuff!) not long ago. actually bringing it for first dive at dayang this deepavali! wink.gif
would definitely go for dive trips someday!

time & place = via email

yup, enjoylife & OWSI confirmed... enjoylife waiting for another friend by EOM

you booked your AA? separate itinerary than me?

Added on October 30, 2010, 2:49 pmguys... AA suddenly reduce prices ... go grab them...

1) get cheaper flights (diff schedule than mine) , but have to arrange separate bus transfer to Pattaya
2) give and take on the fares, ... then we take bus/van together

Nemo, I was away for a few days. Will proceed with booking this week. It seems that I might get more people to jump. Currently convincing another couple that agreed to tag along but is still 50/50 about the jump. Will update you later in the week.
So there are chances that my group grows into a 6 pax. biggrin.gif

Hey zlmie, if you are okay with the AA flight fares currently at RM7XX, then you can still join us biggrin.gif .. If not, then I can organize another group later and you can join.... Frankly speaking, the AA flights is too much now. You can wait for a better deal, and ask more LYN forumers to join your group to save on the jump fees.. the more jumpers, the lower the jump fees...

Merry Christmas ....

Ya I realized that. No choice. Hope more LYN members will be interested to jump next round. Maybe March2011?

Anybody?

Daniel/Andrew/Flo, the scuba dive wasnt anything to shout about. The vis was bad.... but cant blame much to the vis, I guess my mood was spoilt when i dropped my torch!! cry.gif (it cost more than the whole day's dive itself)

You dropped your phone? What bad luck. In any case, to those that has motion sickness, try to take motion sickness pills before the jump. One of the jumpers was sick due to the parachute deployment.

June, when is your flight schedule? Which day do you prefer to jump? Your scuba should be after that..... mermaids dive center was found by munkeyflo... mermaid is the cheapest of all.... kudos to munkeyflo

what about accomodation? We did not go for the Photisarn sports apmt... coz its far frm town... We stayed at Citinloft Pattaya. Its right at Central Pattaya, within walking distance to the beach, with free Song Thaew to the beach too. Rooms were huge... approx USD38 each night.... Citinloft was suggested by wookp... kudos to him too...

what a team it was..... great fun

So now :

1) ymcj + 3
2) zlmie65? smile.gif

anybody else? ... look at my video.... it was awesome... the scariest part of skydiving was the decision to sign up for it... thats all,,,, the rest were full of excitement...

We came across this post because our website was listed in earlier posts.
We have now launched a new website, www.whoaadventures.com. The same URL without "- " (dash)
It's a much delayed work and we are happy we have finally been able to launch it.

The new URL for Tandem Segamat Skydiving is
http://whoaadventures.com/package/tandem-s...e-segamat-johor
However, it is no longer available as there is no longer a jump plane.
Static line jumps (4000ft) are sometimes available in Malaysia but the tedious coordination and arrangements prompted us to discontinue its listing. If you have minimum 8 persons, we may consider it. No casual inquiries. It will be costly, you will need to stay 2 nights, there is no insurance, there is a risk of cancellation and a lot of patience (& nerves) is required. The plane used for static line jumps are different.

We have been the local partners with Thai Skydive Adventures even before they officially started operations and even before this lowyat thread. TSA offers a reliable and professional facilities, dropzone and USPA instructors - hence we are associated with them. We offer the comfort of arranging a skydive program with a reliable institution in Malaysia before arriving in Thailand. There are multi-day adventures which include kite boarding, bungee jump, discovery scuba and obviously, the usual exotic attractions of Thailand.
http://whoaadventures.com/thailand-skydive-adventures
** the jumps are between 10,000 to 13,000ft. Weather permitting.

Have a good one!

Thats weird. Your website says everything not available, no plane available, and why are u posting your offer here??? Mind you, static line jump is NOT skydiving ok. Its merely parachuting down the moment one leaps frm the plane (thats if u have 1). Somemore risk of cancellation? After all the arrangement your jumpers planned (ie annual leaves, transportation to Segamat, accomodation)... come-on .. this was the reason we straight away write off Segamat dropzone and straight flew to Thailand.

Your cost is also so much more expensive. With that jump fees alone, we could have a 4D3N all inclusive fun-filled, flight, accomodation, transportation + Tandem jump in Thailand.

TSA has a 90% jump on schedule record. And its 13,000ft to be exact. With freefall down to 5,000ft b4 the parachute being yanked.

LYN members can read the thread for full info, or PM me for details....

Mine would be nz in about a month time. Hehehe. Where you going for bungee? I'll be at North Island probably driving up to Rotorua for a week, then Auckland two weeks and driving to Christchurch for a week before flying back. Haven't do research on where to bungee yet but I'm sure I wanna go for bungeeee.

So cool smile.gif

I'm thinking of going for a jump at Segamat but after reading that there's a difference between sky diving and static line jump... and the video... seems like I'm deciding to go to Thailand for the jump smile.gif

I aim to do it between October to mid december but so far looking for buddies smile.gif

nice sharing...

ya, static line jump is NOT skydiving... mainly enjoying the parachuting.

Great... if u have enough buddies, I can help u form a group with Thaiskyadventures. Or u wanna wait till Feb/Mar 2012, there is another group waiting.. thus, you can get better group discounts...

Fellow lyn ski divers, when did you guys go Thai Sky Adventures?

I was about to go take the full course last year until I saw the comments on TripAdvisor.com.

What do you guys think?

See this link.

I had booked a sky dive and a bungy jump. Not only did they cancel it, but they never paid me back. It has been more than three months, and I am still waiting for my money. Now they don t answer my mails and I am gonna have to contact a lawyer...So, there numerous other companies in Pattaya, I would recommend you to try another one...

Their website said starting 20-Jan. So i booked a jump for 22-Jan.
A week before the scheduled jump, I was made aware that the start date has been postponed to Feb end.

My main motive to travel to Thailand was the sky dive and I couldnt cancell any of the other plans as all other things were booked already.

Sky diving is still a dream.
Refund of the deposit yet to be received.

This used to be an excellent dropzone, but there were always some company politics lurking beneath the surface waiting to show their ugly face and ruin the fun for the masses. Well now thanks to some greedy idiots in high positions within the company that has finally happened. Its no wonder why all the old staff that made this a wonderful community, have quit and gone elsewhere. All the positive reviews received in the past are a direct result of the competent, enthusiastic and friendly staff that USED to run the company on a day to day basis, but sadly they are nearly all gone now due to constant stress over being ripped off by the owners, and I doubt will ever come back, not unless there is some serious change/ restructuring within the company.

In short, do not make a booking here, there are other places to jump in Thailand, namely Udon. I know the plane isn't as good and its out of the way, but you certainly won't have your deposit stolen, or be given a load of empty promises about a re-opening date.

Any company that deletes negative customer reviews from their facebook page is a seriously shady company, If customers are complaining its obvious something is wrong, If these negative comments are deleted and empty promises of new opening dates are posted, it can only spell one thing --> They want as much of your deposit money to run off with before they finally go belly up when their operating license gets refused.

Save yourself the headache, don't bother.

Its a pity coz now I don't know where else to go, other than Australia (its costly).

Fellow lyn ski divers, when did you guys go Thai Sky Adventures?

I was about to go take the full course last year until I saw the comments on TripAdvisor.com.

What do you guys think?

See this link.

wow, didnt knw suddenly this thread became alive after I've left it since 31Aug. Until leonard PM me that I came to have a look. If u guys go thru the thread, I've done quite a lot of arrangement. THis was my jump with thaiskyadventures in Jan2011
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ms24T0RIOiM

They were superb during my jump.

Sad to say, recently thaiskyadventures had been victims of partnership scandals & their jump plane Pilatus Porter could have been sabotaged. Hence, dont skydive with them anymore

There used to be a company operating skydive from the Drop Zone in Segamat Johor, but they had the habit of postponing the jumps, therefore i think they've wrapped up now due to their own actions. Anyways, what they offered was static line jump which basically meant "parachuting" and not skydive.

Advice? ...... go to Queenstown, NZ !! ... that will be my next jump

Tandem dive isn't that scary. IMO, bungee jump is much more scarier than tandem dive. It's like you have someone behind you who is a professional so the fear is almost gone. That's probably just me since I'm not very afraid of heights. tongue.gif

My next skydive will be in NZ too. Not sure when yet though. laugh.gif
Have checked out some of the prices when I was there last July. Isn't that much expensive for the jump (compared to Thailand), but the travelling expenses will be quite a lot.

I haven't planned a date yet. I don't think I'll be jumping anytime soon, now still short on cash. tongue.gif
But I think Nemoexcel may be planning to go soon.

As for average cost, since AA don't fly to NZ anymore, airfare is gonna cost quite a lot. Probably have to set aside RM2000 for airfare, return. Accommodation is also going to be quite costly and it won't be worth it to spend so much just to go there for few days and do the jump. If I were to go, I'll be going for holiday and sightseeing (and probably stay there for another few weeks to visit my family). So for me, I actually need quite a big budget to go.

Hello guys,
Never knew that this thread existed, and been so long back. Just realize that I am so outdated! Anyway, please count me in if there is anyone going for skydive and welcome others to join.
