just go to cimb at plaza damansara and apply for the world mastercard. Approval is faster than citibank. Managed to get the card less than 1 hour.
The card material looks alike uob preferred plat and quite normal design for this exclusive card. Best part of this card i think is they still maintain the free for life. Free gift for approved card is a luggage bag, not samsonite la. Got some light refreshment food at there while waiting for your card.
For prompt card application is min 100k cl and for document application is 240k income per annum, however they do accept gross salary including allowance, incentive etc.
The open house is for today and tomorrow.

hsbc amanah min 20k can get already.
For conventional is slightly higher abit. It's 30k min.
Hsbc rejected my application once, never try to apply after that.

if i'm not wrong Hsbc premier entry level CL would be 40k. That's 10k higher than their conventional plat card which start from 30k.
Cimb WORLD Mastercard need at least 100k CL as prompt case. That's the min limit they request. Am not sure for scb visa infinite but from their website the income requirement are same as hsbc plat card 150k p.a .

wana ask what it means when u swipe your credit card, it shows do not honor?

Most probably card has been suspended / blocked by issuer. Normally the merchant terminal will show Decline if the card has exceeded the preset CL.

certain info provided by CS in most bank are not really accurate, need to double check if it was something important. Lack of knowledge about bank's latest product feature, which i believe most of us in here can provide better and more certain answer than their CS. This is why i'm so fed up sometime seeking answer from them. doh.gif

Correction .... CIMB CS is 24 hours !

Anyone here who has successfully cancelled their UOB without being charged the RM25 cancellation fee? (and still keep the card of course) I vaguely remembered to call up CS and said the letter never arrived and proceed with cancellation. Just got this card but I don't think I want this card anymore.

A refresher would be great. (and thanks in advanced)

i've cancelled my uob last week at the branch in puchong without returning the card to them, i've asked the need of returning and the officer say i just need to cut it myself and no need to return the card.

Personally, I can never understand why a person would need more than 2 credit cards (1 for backup). Say if someone has 5 credit cards, how much do you spend on each card annually? If it's a small amount, how then do you ask for a fee waiver?
*
different card provide different benefit, i'm quite a hard core plastic user but most of the time i'll only use up 10% of my total limit , that rather low if benchmarked to my CL . Point collection at different merchant , fine dining discount, etc, impossible to get one card to have all those goodies packed in. So it depend on individual lifestyle.
On waiving the AF , i've uob, eon, stanchart, citi and amex charge waived without any single transaction for the whole year. A phone call away to their CS, done! Only citi request me to charge auto billing to their card for the AF request but i denied , they still waive for me tongue.gif

Lucky man! I spent over RM100k on my HSBC card last year and all I got was rewards points - they won't even upgrade my gold to plat.
*
if you're a heavy plastic user i strongly recommend this card to you,
1. 2x points for every purchases, i've get around 220k with this card in 4 months, some of the point is 10x from plat partners.
2. Prestige platinum membership for exclusive dining for up to 50% discount. Worth rm499 if i'm not wrong for 1 year.
3. Free longines watch if usage over 20k in first 6 months. I think this is still available at the moment. Very worth it and i went to the shop earlier and saw the price tag at 2250 however discount is given la.
Just the 800 annual fee is unwaivable.

Prestige Platinum Card is a membership card for Shangri La hotel F & B and rooms discount card. If you are holding Amex Platinum CC from Maybank , the membership for Prestige Platinum are complimentary and by right they will not contact you for enrolment, cause they will issue you the card in 3 weeks time after you get hold your Amex Plat CC.

FYI , Visa card issued by Maybank does not come with the membership.

No problem , be cautious when dealing with someone over the phone , never reveal any personal information especially CC, CVV , IC number ETC. Although sometime dispute can be done but in the end we have wasted much time and phone call follow up the case.
Call up Prestige Platinum hotline to check it out if you want , 03 2032 2388 . Hope it helps. wink.gif

I got annual fixed income about 35k per annum, confirmed staff
If nett salary, consider about 42k p.a due to some un-fixed allowances but consistantly average 3.5k per month
However I work <1 year in this company and no EA form

Holding 2 CC with other bank, owing about rm5~7k in total ... but I pay rm2~3k each month

Am i qualify for HSBC gold card ?
*
if your existing card has at least 8k CL, then you can get your gold card !

they asked me to call after 12 months, when they charged me a renewal fee, but i just want to double confirm with Maybank Platinum holders here.

no worry, you can get the annual fee waived when they charge you by calling up the CS. The only card you cannot waive is Amex plat from Mbb, so far i have no problem asking them for waiver.

No worries, MBB will waived the AF for u.
Just charge ur cc few times a month with regardless amount.(cc must active)
Call their CS before ur AF being charged and not after that. nod.gif
*
i've ask for waiver before they charged the AF to my statement but they insist on after they charged it to account. Most important is they do waived it biggrin.gif . No condition like usage above any certain amount , call in and they will waive for you. Mine is Visa/Master Plat from MBB , rarely used .

Just receive my Citibank AirAsia over pos laju yesterday.

What is this statement by Citibank AirAsia. I need to charge at least 3 times every 45 days or I will be charged an annual fee. Does it mean I have to charge 3 times to activate the credit card or to maintain the annual waiver? Is this normal?

UOB have to charge 6 times a year is more better than this.
*
Citibank usually need you to use the card at least 3 times in 45 days from the date you received the card. After that you will enjoy the 1st year fee waived, the subsequent year you just need to call in for waiver, not using it 3 times every 45 days.

You mean when I cancel the card? Or 1-2 months later after cancellation?
*
they will refund AFTER you've make the cancellation, which is after the bank confirmed your cancellation, they will issue back a cheque the amount that they owe you. Estimated around 1-2 months. That's what i encountered before for Hsbc and Citibank.
