Quick update ...

Last nite I copied a 1GB VOB file from a DVD into my HDD and WD TV plays it! So nice ... is this DVD VIDEO file format?

Next to try is BlueRay Video file ...

Also, can't wait for a new Firmware from WD ... need auto-recovery from the green pixelation happening to some of the mkv 1080 files
A bit on Transformers movie. Quite a few times for I Am Legend.
Current solution is Stop > Resume (repeat)

some hdmi connection dont have audio in it .. this is what i am worrying as this stuff is kinda cheap ..

DTS no sound not becos its digital la, its becos the wdtv kenot decode DTS

Can we use this - i.e Optical cable to carry the audio signal (DTS/DD) to our reiciever and decoded by the reciever??

Anyone wanna share their  collection of 720p/2080p movie files??

Not many in mkv.  Less than 100. My collection mostly in BD ISO / BDMV. Each is abt 40-46GB

all new release bluray rip comes with dts sound. no more ac3.. usuually ripper like SEPTIC using ac3 but now dts..

i preffered too but but this player cannot support this dts..

just wanna ask.. what hdmi cables are u people using for ur wdtv?

huh why difficult to test?

just get 2 cables, 1 expansive 1 cheap.
ask someone to help you do blind test. Both cable play on same source same display same speakers same AVR.

as easy as abc to test. if you cant notice any difference, by all means get cheap one. if you can notice good one is better (in blind test) by all means get the expansive one if u can afford and if u find that its worth for the price

Darn it!! starting to hate this product      The same this (as above happend again). Was playing Changeling 1080p and after roughly 1 hour of viewing time the aboved prolem occurs. Tried everithing - reset, unplug, start the mov and FF, set auto res/720p60hz/1080p60hz, change usb port/cable. It just get worse - all the way to the end - it happened every 2-3 min.

I think it is the WDTV issue - as from my observation my avr lost the digital sound iinput from wdtv and my ext M.Basic hd stopped blinking. can this be another flaw in the new firmware. didnt got the chance to tried in the old/shipped f/ware - straight away update - how i wish to hav a copy of the old firmware....

Any one has experienced this before - WHAT IS THE SOLUTION??

best is to download a DD files then..or
have u tried to set audio to stereo??

i suspected that as well. But most ext 3.5' now are 7200rpm and 32mb buffer - what barnd u using and does anyone else experinced it (slow HDD)

there is a list of compatible HDD post in the FAQ of wdtv - but S*** la, they said can play any HDD with usb ( even thubmdrive!!). Felt cheated if this is true...

please help! Can some kind soul please point me to where I can solve the "no audio" problem on 720p and 1080p files?
I tried downloading Popcorn Audio Converter but there's a trojan horse in there according to my AVG.
I don't have a DTS receiver either! (How much are recivers now?)
Anyway, I just want to watch my stuff on my LCD TV in my room, so the speakers from my TV is more than sufficient for my current needs.

Please please help!

Am using KMplayer to view on my notebook, and noticed that video and audio not quite in sync on 1080p files. Am out of town, so can't test out on the WD. Anyone else experiencing this? Strange that it's ok with the 720p files.

Need some advice please. Have just updated my firmware. Still NOT able to do chapter selection on MKV files. Do I have to "make" chapters first? Am also not able to "forward" 5 mins ahead. Would appreciate your assistance!
