HDMI version is one thing.

HDMI carries both video and audio in 1 cable.

You need a high speed and high bandwidth HDMI cable to experience a smooth HD experience on your LCD/Plasma and 7.1 surround sound at the same time. All this in 1 HDMI cable.

So, if you get a al-cheapo HDMI cable, even it states v1.3, you will not achieve the above fully.

Owh? Is it suppose we can choose? mine already cant choose from the beginning, never bother about i, thot it is detecting my TV automatically because second unit I bought also the same, and it is set to PAL.

When I play a few of my mkv there's a DIGITAL word just after the starting, then it will have no sound. I guess it is because of the audio in DTS I think. Correct me if I'm wrong. Is there any way to rectify that?

now i need a feature request for my WDTV.

the ability to turn off sound transfer over HDMI as I am using HDMI for Video only while TOSLINK for all sound transfered to AVR.

The annoying part now is, its its decode-able format, I will have to mute my TV in order just to enjoy only the sound from the AVR instead of the TV.

Function and features should be the same... except cannot put WD hdd to stand

The WDTV even thou remotely switch off (not switch off the plug), when plug-in the hdd, you can see the read/write LED will blinking. Look like WDTV still read the hdd even in off mode. I test with a few hdd, same results.

Here what I do:
I put WDTV in off mode, then I plug my 250GB Hitachi drive, the LED blinking non stop. When I switch on the WD, I can see a message on TV saying I need xxxMB free space for media library. That mean, in off mode, WDTV still work, just the video and audio output is off.

Bought WD TV few weeks back. Updated to the latest firmware 1.02.07.
I am having difficulty to resume my movie every time after I power off it .

I couldn't perform Search using time input, or maybe I don't know.

Anyone kind to share how to resume movie without using the FF function?

I power off the WD TV with remote control followed by switching off the wall plug power.

WD should really consider giving bookmark or time search features..

any shop in lyp that has wdtv for demo? i wanna try it before i buy.

-able to stretch the videos in any way i like (like in media player classic here u just press 2/4/8/6 to resize)
-ability to decode wmv-hd, and dts
-downmix 5.1 or 7.1 to stereo
-how hot is the wdtv? how hot is the power adaptor?
