Whatever use to play movie.... the most important things is to enjoy it....
For me, I not afford to buy PS3, so cheaper alternative is WDTV... I rather buy few big HDD rather than buy higher price player itself. Cost effective is a must for me.. |

QUOTE(hamlaww @ Jun 20 2009, 10:36 PM) Well first of all I'm kind of new in here... I just want to share something about the heating issue on the WDTV... well I admit the this device is generated a heat just after a couple minute you turn it on... this reality of this device . .so since I know that I'm going to face this problem...well I managed to solve this problem by spending couple of “Yuan “on it ...please take a look the picture might give you all some silly Idea ... but trust me its work .. For me it’s not a big issue unless you don’t have any issue... you can turn it on more then 8 hour without heat.. Peace I turn on my WDTV for 15 hours without any problem and heat is still acceptable. My Mini 9 netbook have more heat than WDTV.Added on June 20, 2009, 11:22 pm QUOTE(WereWolf84 @ Jun 20 2009, 11:12 PM) where did you buy that mini fan coz I also want to buy one...what converter u r using? Samuri restaurant (at Selayang). The best choice is to use the slim PS2 fan.... like this.... cost only RM10 and fit nicely. Hope you guy love this one... |

That inside my bedroom bro. Space limited. I already put extra spacer, just need to get a fan for it.The holes on top is for ventilation and should not be blocked whatsoever. Your amp will surely become kuku if it gets hotter. Anyway, what the different if I put inside the TV rack... (the one have a door). |

QUOTE(sotong168 @ Jun 23 2009, 06:37 AM) the unit is just warm, just like other electrical appliances, so it is normal no? i doubt cooling is needed unless it hangs due to overheating and drawing current from usb will make the unit getting hotter... I do agree with you... I just give some of the idea on how to solve it. The player temperature will depend on surrounding temperature too.. If I watch movie at night, there no need to switch on the fan... just open the windows, a cool breeze will fill up my house... sometime no need to switch on my table fan at all. |
