After 6 months maybe another new model for WDTV II

That time price will be very cheap for WDTV

Would be nice if next generation WDTV can put one harddisk internally, look more neat, without messy cables.
*

Maybe yes, maybe no. With a HDD in it, it will be surely not in those psychologically cheap price range. Consumers might look at other alternative. I believe majority of us already has a HDD. An updated firmware to rectify some juddering issue related to 'certain hi-def format' would be nice blush.gif

What is your dts problem?

I just receive my unit on New Year from Thundermatch, after waiting 2 weeks.

After flash with new firmware, the units work perfectly well except .TS formats. Some of my .TS works perfectly with DTS MA HD, but other cannot play.

Tried out MKV files with AAC,AC3,DTS5.1,DD5.1 with no sound quality problem.

A great unit to have, hopefully it can play RMVB in future. rclxm9.gif

Bro, perfectly with this lossless codec? Wow.... I haven't try it yet.

has anyone tryied the chinese sub .srt on this wdtv.. does it work on lcd/plasma?
*
It's not the lcd tv or plasma tv issue. It is related to the limitation with the player itself.

laugh.gif ddkl, darn funny. Optical behaves just like HDMI. IMHO, it is either you get the signal or not only.

Yesterday, I watched Severance (DTS encoded). Somehow, my Yammy 1800 displayed 'DTS' with no hiccup. Have to look for more movies with DTS audio format to try it out.

htkaki, try these n pls inform whether there are clippin or not
Oldboy (2003) 720p.BluRay.DTS-ES.x264-ESiR
The Host (2006) Blu-Ray.720p.x264.DTS-REDµX
Young Frankenstein 1974 720p BluRay x264-SiNNERS
Miami Vice 2006 Unrated 720p BluRay DTS x264-ESiR
*
I think I Have 'Miami Vice' but aint sure whether it's the unrated version.

I think I have another movie in DTS. Need to check one by one.

QUOTE
If there is clipping, check if there is multiple audio files in the mkv. So far if there is multiple audio files in the mkv, then the dts will result in clipping. However some mkv with only DTS audio will still have clipping but those are very rare.

So far most of my DTS mkv files plays fine except Band of Brothers.
Probably holds true as the 'Severance' is only single audio track. No clipping.
