If you guys cant go, its best to appoint Poslaju I would say.

Just got the K1 form from DHL. To my horror the custom has charged me $100 additional for shipping. My merchant gave me free shipping for spending above $100. I'm not sure who to complain now and what options do I have? I don't think I will have a case with custom, DHL will claim they are just the middle person and merchant will claim it's my custom's problem.

did your shipper put the shipping charges in the invoice for this shipment? If not custom will charge according to the standard rates they have. I think basically DHL person who is doing the K1 form and not the custom. Unless custom dispute the shipping rates.

Once you paid getting back your money from the custom department is going to be very hard.

They have the rights to charge you according to the rates like what Kherell77 said but most of the time if they included the shipping rates charges in the invoice you are basically safe on that side. Which what happen on your previous shipment. Company who shipped frequently have a better shipping rates.

Are you sure K1 form is by DHL? I believe my shipper put the shipping rate as zero since it's free shipping. Obviously DHL/custom didn't know that so they used their own rate.
*
Yes K1 is done by forwarder for custom approval. Custom wont do the K1 form for you. Their job is to approve or make changes if they dont agree with what your forwarder have declare.

When they put 0 means you will be charge according to their standard rates since K1 calculation is based on CIF. Shipper still need to pay the shipping charges no matter what.

So I won't have a case even with DHL as long as my merchant doesn't state it's shipping amount.
*
you can try but money is actually paid to the custom department and not to DHL. Any claim you want to do you will need to go to custom department.

For me I just dont think its worth my time to do it.

Invoice stated with shipping charges doesnt mean that they wont change the rates as some people have been slapped with the standard rates as well in the past.

I just heard from my friend today that nowadays, instead of giving you the option of picking up the item at kastam yourself and save the RM50 poslaju agent fee, they just simply add the RM50 to the 6% tax and ask you to pick up the package at poslaju office instead Is that true? Anyone got their package detained by kastam within these few days?
*
got a package detained early of the month. I did receive the notice from poslaju

So, they no longer give you the option of going to the custom office to pick up the package yourself?
RM50 is a lot to pay for something that I could've done myself since my house is near KLIA anyway.

The notice is the option you can decide what you want to do. Appoint them or pickup yourself.

Hi all,
Since now no GST, does it mean if we buy goods from ebay worth few K after converted back to RM, no need to pay any tax?
*
You still need to pay Import tax (depending on items)

Thanks. It's always 10% above RM500, is it? If my invoice was much higher (say 2k above), it will still be 10%?

And also, when would they charge for duty and excise?

Thank you!
*
sales tax is always 10% unless you are buying item that are exempted from sales tax

as for import it vary... the code given by you have 0 import tax

your value doesnt affect the percentage of tax given. It will only affect if you used the wrong code.

When the shipment arrive in MY you will be given notice by your forwarder if they is any tax charges .
