hey everyone. i'm new here. gf got me a guinea pig for about 3 weeks... recently found got some problem with it... as it din wan to move.. then i notice it's left front leg got problem.. and worse the back 2 legs like no strength to move.. took it to the vet. got an X-ray and she got a fracture on her front left leg. aihh... and worse still vet told me she got vitamin C deficiency. arghh checked her fur and she got lices... and her nose got slight skin problem... anyone's guinea pig recovered from vitamin c deficiency and/or fractured leg? got any tips or special advices on how to nurse them?

i gona boycott PETS WONDERLAND coz this pet shop sells pets which is not healthy.. last time she got me a pair of hamsters... 1 died nx day and another got bad tumor infection.... i took care of it till it passed away. now this happen again. told my gf to boycott that pet store already.

vet cost me rm 137... and have to take my GP back daily for vitamin C jab which is rm 10 each. really hope she can recover. The only thing that makes me a bit ok is her appetite she still eats a lot and drink a lot of water.

my GP just passed away... about 20 mins ago... =(( gave her a nice burial at my garden.. sigh. RIP Ah Pig.    anyway it would be a good thing she died peacefully itself rather than have to go trough all the painful treatments or fractured leg pain and suffer.  oh wells...

he wont poo on the bed if he's sleeping

i gave her kangkong and sawi only. thats her fav. i think i need to get the kacang for her. not much choice of food offered at my place here. even the hay doesnt look 'fresh'....

Gee.. by the time he start to have wet poo, i always too late in it owh!   and my vet here is not so good also.. i tot my Lisa having diarhea, and the doc gave her 3 type of medicine. (at that time, i dont know she gave birth cos her child is hiding somewhere. i pick the mother and bring her indoors.Even the vet not to bother to check her properly  ).

Then again, i think her poo a bit wet cause she gave birth ler...she still eat normally .. only her poo is a bit soft cos eat too much vege..hahaha...

back to diarhea, got other reasons beside that? i bought all the vege from fresh market, i washed before feed them. could posible unboiled water cause diarhea? but my GP doesnt seem to touch the bottle water duh    the water level always remain the same...............

oh so much good advise!! thank you very muchh!! yeah.. mebe i shud do that next time.. slowly change the food. and true also cos my Mocha (2nd abys-the male) resist to eat anything i gave him on the first day. He's not used to kangkung or all kind of vege. but he does eat some bengy's pallet. i guess nex time when i have a new GP, i'll slowly change his/her food.

from now on i'll try using the recommended diet. as for hay, i still unable to provide, so maybe 50% vege 50% pallet could do? at least better than 100% vege right? I'll buy the hay by online soon. I just got back from the pet shop and ergh they dont sell any good foods. I try Jolly brand (import from HK. i have 3 choice only, local pallet-bengy, thai pellet-bunny or HK-jolly)

I just fed her with the pellet.. she seems to like it . i'll take the Jolly's pellet and treat later n post it up here.

Issit ok if the GP doesnt drink water? Or maybe because the vege is already wet, maybe thats why she doesnt need water
i think by giving pellet(dry food) could be possibly she'll drink the water later...

i read a lot of the info in the net but i dont think its enough cos i need to 'talk' it out and hear opinions. especially its hard to see the good advice how to treat diarhea or what to do when the mother gave birth etc...

my local vet say our GP is not the same like mat salleh GP. their GP is more tougher and longer life span due to the weather and climate..true ka or the vet cincai said like that? she said my GP (Lisa) is already old enough  . i tot GP can like up to 5-6years?

Lisa's baby doesnt look fine since last night. I wonder whats wrong. The Baby's didnt eat anything... lost appetite since last night, refuse to drink milk or move much................    

feonfeon u should bring the babys to the vet..i think it's best...

how is the poo actually looked like when gp is having diarhea..
my gps poo kinda soft.. like chocolate powder.. not as solid and greenish dark like normal poo.. is tat diarhea?? inform me..
