As soon as the baby is eating on its own and dont depend on mum's milk, can separate already.. coz inbreeding isnt any good either.. Did dr jenny say that is too early to separate?

QUOTE(JackLene @ Apr 15 2009, 04:42 PM) weLL... forgot who was the one who said in the eaRLier posts that bRead is Like junk food to GP's. So, it's not goOd to give them too much... technically yes syringe not too safe.. if you push too fast.. too much milk goes in and can suffocate the baby. the bread could have been the best option.. and besides.. its not like you treat it as if it was a staple diet.. it was for a special case.. it can be tolerated I didn't know that... but I read onLine that using a shRinge to FoRced feed him miLk is not that gOod... the guide suggested i use bRead to soak up the miLk & Let him suck the miLk fRom the bRead... AfteR 1 week of spoon feeding (inteRvaLs of 2 to 3 houRs) ..then he staRted taking soLid food.. PHEW!!! |

QUOTE(Chubbyagel @ Apr 16 2009, 09:37 PM) I think mu piggies got heavy mites too...VERY HEAVY type...I can see the black dots all over their bodies and when try to brush it, it just dun go away...I can only bring them to Vet by Sat. I am very very worried about their condition. Should I just bath them with medicated shampoo tomolo and only bring them to vet on Sat? Will that make they stress? Dont give them the bath yet, take them to Dr Jenny first then move them to colin's house..I need to bring them to my bf place this weekend cos one of my housemate(my Gps Godmother) go back to home town and the other is working and dun really care much on my piggies. So I have to bring them to my bf place.I just afraid they might get too much stress with vet visits and new place and smaller cage too...Very worried about them... QUOTE(carolhyf @ Apr 17 2009, 12:13 AM) Just finish my exam this evening and rushed to Pet Shack direct from Segi College SJ and after that go to Pets Family as well at Taman Megah to seek for the right cage, thanks for Joanne and her husband, giving me a lots of opinion on how to place all 4 of them. QUOTE(hitz @ Apr 17 2009, 09:16 AM) They shed.. just make sure not too much.. Unless you see locks of fur.. (meaning a lot shedding) then it could be due to too much scratching.. also possible of mites.. |

QUOTE(jaswwp @ Apr 17 2009, 10:38 AM) I think its normal for GP to drop a lot of fur, as long as they are not sccratching a lot. Since yours scratch a lot maybe it has a skin problem? The ingredients seem fine.. i know there was some cases where people blame hagen pellets for the cause of death for their cavies.. But its actually how you feed the pellets. And yes Hagen Pellets have Corn Glutten and Ground Corn Cobs in the ingredients. Renal failure is most likely the GP is offered ONLY pellets and hay and no fresh veggies. Pellets are not suppose to be the only thing they will eat.. Silverwinus also had a GP that died of excessive feeding of pellets.. you can read it on the first page.. So its not just pellets.. it can be any pellets. Due to this case also, im waiting to swap to oxbow XD but then again.. my GPs dont feed entirely on just pellets XDAdded on April 17, 2009, 10:40 amBy the way, not sure this is related or not, but I read that Hagen pellet is not that good for guinea pig due to some of the ingredients they use. QUOTE(JackLene @ Apr 17 2009, 10:46 AM) any1 heRe good at sexing BABY guinea pigs? Jacklene, you take the GPs one hand hold up.. another hold at the bottom there.. use your left hand index finger and thumb, gently press the bottom there.. see if got anything come out (like a small penis) Dr. Jenny told me that one of mine is feMaLe & the otheR is MaLe... so she neuteRed 1 of my aduLt GP's to pRevent inteR-bReeding... But now that the Babies are neaRLy 5 weeks oLd... i'm staRting to feeL Like both of them R maLes... & i'm eaR that i neuteRed my GP for nothing >_<~ i'LL go home & take a pic... if can i'LL post it up heRe p/s: Hitz... 1 of my GP Loses haiR eveRyday toO. Erm all of them doesnt have to go thru surgery jacklene.. you can just get a new cage and seperate the boys all together.. they are siblings, wont fight much.. so you can have a 'boys only' cage ^^i was woRRied as weLL... which is y i'm a bit upset if theit TuRns out that my baby GP's R aLL maLe... coz then i wouLdn't have put him thRough such sTressfuL suRgeRy...T_T i betteR doubLe check beFore i get aLL woRked up about it... feeL Like going home now to check! >_<~ so anXious... Im glad the previous surgery went well, but you gotta remember not all GPs are alike ><; some might be able to take it.. some might not |
