If MBA is any good in indicating the quality of a business school, here you go:

EIU's Top 100 MBA's 2008

Financial Times's Rankings

Personally, I don't think MBA rankings are the best indicator of a business school's quality but it's definitely convenient to use the rankings to have a basic idea of where the schools stand. Research should be given more emphasis, not just MBA's. And also, based on these rankings, we don't have a clear idea of the quality of the undergrad programmes. Since most people here are talking about bachelor's degree, these rankings may not be as meaningful as we would like them to be.

PS: Lancaster's MBA is No. 4 in UK, No. 22 in the world according to FT; No. 21 in Europe, No. 52 in world according to EIU.

Its not Machester. Its Lancaster.
Lancaster is 22nd around the world if I am not wrong.
But ranked among the top 5 in UK if i'm not wrong.

But anyway. The concern is, whether the standard is the same as in UK and the degree is as the same as what UK gives? rclxub.gif

Sorry wanted to type Manchester not Machester....I believe Manchester is only for MBA program my mistake there...Well either way i believe Curtin is a good university and metropolitan college is a good place to complete the degree locally... This is just my opinion as a Curtin/Metropolitan college alumni biggrin.gif

I dun remember there is a lancaster.
last time when it was around 60-70K for MBA, i was getting ready to join, but the fees shot up to 90K something.

have to drop the idea. in the end i join nottingham. but there is another better one in malaysia, warwick university.

So what do you want actually?
Business, accounting, or others?
Hm, there are pros and cons for sure for both of these institutions.
But personally I prefer Nottingham to Sunway.
So, it depends on yourself smile.gif
Good luck dude:P

the monash in malaysia is a far cry from australia. you are paying almost same amount of fees but i can tell you the quality and standards of teaching is oh-so-far-away from the monash in australia. if you want to go monash, go to australia. don't waste your time in Malaysia.

I think u should look deeper. given the short 10 yrs history of Monash in malaysia, what it has achieved is significant. Recall that UNSW's fail to build a campus in Singapore.

Look at the faculty profile of Monash Malaysia, it is getting more and more internationalised, over time it will have a good mixed of faculty with phds from around the world's good uni. whereas the Monash faculty based in aussie still has quite a serious in-breeding, in the sense that most of their phds are from Aussies uni.

Having a campus is totally different then offering through a 3rd party service provider.

Some still view that overseas campus of monash, curtin etc as inferior. A simple analogy is: Are Mckinsey people based in USA better/smarter than Mckinsey people based in KL?

The future trend for university is to go global and internationalization. Cornell, Carnige Mellon, Duke etc also have campus overseas. This is part of globalisation and is good for the students as : The world is my campus, the world is my oyster!"

Nottingham has a good reputation to start with. But being still very very young in malaysia, it still has problem attracting good faculty. Which is why you see so many Asst. Prof without PhDs. It will take a few more years before u start seeing more qualified lecturer at Nottingham Malaysia.

Therefore, Monash is still the best option.

With the financial crisis and poor economy, i think it is not wise to increase fee. Rather, it should be reduced. otherwise, there could be an increase in students dropping out of the course as they tighten their budget.

Its the same question in singapore. Which is the top biz school in singapore?

NUS?NTU? no way. There is INSEAD, and Chicago BIz School there. Likewise, I would rank accordingly:

Monash (own campus),
Curtin (own campus),
Nottingham (own campus but very young and not so brilliant faculty profile, yet),
Swinburne (own campus, but young),
UM,
(a couple of other ipta?)
Lancaster (not their own campus, thru 3rd party service provider, so there is a difference in quality)

well, then we have to decide... grad bussiness school or taking whole in account...

if wanan compare prestige, just use TIMES ranking... if wanna compare knowledge gained... then we have to ask feedback from students
