Personally, I don't think MBA rankings are the best indicator of a business school's quality but it's definitely convenient to use the rankings to have a basic idea of where the schools stand. Research should be given more emphasis, not just MBA's. And also, based on these rankings, we don't have a clear idea of the quality of the undergrad programmes. Since most people here are talking about bachelor's degree, these rankings may not be as meaningful as we would like them to be.
PS: Lancaster's MBA is No. 4 in UK, No. 22 in the world according to FT; No. 21 in Europe, No. 52 in world according to EIU.
